Solo Adventure!

Hi all!

I'm in a situation at the moment where I am absolutely determined to experience Ibiza. I've never been before, but it's been number one on my list for a while now, and I feel like this is the perfect time in my life to head out there and have a good time. However, for different reasons my friends/other half cannot come with me, which has left me thinking "why not just go on my own?" Got to love spontaneity.

I genuinely feel confident and relaxed regarding being a 23-year-old solo female in Ibiza - it has never struck me as the sort of place to be feeling anything other than that. Can anyone confirm that I'd be fine travelling and staying there on my own if I keep my wits about me? Need some reassurance that I'm not being naive haha! I'm thinking San Antonio, is this a decent choice?

I was also initially going to go at the start of July, but really I can go any time between May and September. If anyone fancies meeting up within this time, do let me know. It would be really nice to chat with those who are going this year, I'm a friendly soul haha!

Thanks :)

out of interest where are you from? Theres endless stories on this forum of people who have gone solo of all ages and met loads of people. If you can start from a place of being excited to go by yourself then meeting any others will be a welcome bonus and ive no doubt you will!

Thanks very much for your reply.

I'm from Scotland (Glasgow to be precise). I've been looking through many threads on here to get some advice and guidance, and what you've said does seem to be a common answer :) You know that way you're just looking for that last push to go ahead with something? I think that's what spurred me on to post.

I'll go for it! My mind was 85% made up anyway to be honest. Thanks! Hopefully I will meet people no problem.

Good morning,

On my countless times to the island I've met dozens upon dozens of people who have been out by themselves. Whilst I've never been just myself (this year could actually be a first given friends getting wives, kids & girlfriends :eek:) I certainly wouldn't put anyone off travelling alone.

The easiest part of being by yourself is actually going out at night, it's a lot easier to get talking to someone at DC10 for instance than it is walking up to a group of people at 11am whilst they are eating their breakfast!

If you need any advice then let me know!:)

Thank you for your advice, much appreciated! What you've said re: lots of folk being out on their own is very reassuring! I find it easy to meet people as I'm a generally nice, laidback person (if I do say so myself haha ), so this is a good sign.

If you do go on your own this year do let me know, will be more than happy to meet up with other likeminded people who are up for an amazing time with a good attitude to life.

Thanks again. :)

I've been solo many times and it's a good laugh.

I'm hopefully going june/July with mate for 2 weeks this year.

We usually meet up with peeps off here (solo or not) and stay in touch via the fb group.

We're gonna stay in pdb this time although we will miss the west end.

Cheers

Thanks man! It's great hearing from people who have done it before. I'm really looking forward to getting out there.

I did join a fb group so will take the initiative once I decide when I'm going and post there.

Thanks for your help. :)

You will have a great time and sure if your a moderately outgoing sort then you will meet people very easy.

San Antonio is cool and you will have a ball.

I would defo recommend doing the zoo project as a single traveller as great for socialising.

Boat parties would be a good option too.

Any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

I decided to go solo to Europe for the first time back in 2014. I started a solo-ist (is that a real word?) and after joining a few facebook groups got a group of 5-6 people together. We went to Tomorrowland, Amsterdam and Ibiza. Even met people along the way who joined our trip during the Ibiza portion. We stayed in Playa d'en Bossa. Some of the girls in the group traveled alone at times and they were fine. It was an amazing experience and still keep in touch with them to this day, I actually saw one of those friends in Miami earlier this week during the WMC parties lol.

I'm heading to Ibiza solo this year June 9-16. Hoping to make another crew along the way if possible :) Good luck with your trip and if your dates match mine feel free to hit me up!

I've gone solo on numerous occasions and absolutely love it.
You can do what you want, when you want without having to worry about others.

I've met up with some really cool people off here too and had some great night's out.

Will be flying solo again on my next trip, looking like June.

Wish I was going solo again. But the wife insists she comes along for Space openings!
As far as she didnt ask to come with the kids u ll be fine  (got a french parisian contact that have been to ibiza for the easter weekend with 3kids)
Can't wait...
For my first ibz experience ive been with mates from Paris (99,00,01,02) & since 12 always on my own & met people from here & it's better as i've realized these parisians mates took advantage of me(location shared by three(supposed to be 2 but i only know it once there) ,even though i pay half the location, one still owe me the ticket plane from BCN to Ibz & so on )..if u want to come for the opening(from may 21 ) it's hardly recommanded but quiet pricey with all the parties without guestlists :arrow:http://forum.ibiza-spotlight.com/th...to-may-30-my-scheduled-plan-whos-there.74686/ otherwise if u really plan to go to ibz on ur own i really advice to have a car....
But watchout, there are "big talkers" that plan a lot of meetups but once there ...nothing  (my best ibz mate told me that a spotlight member was a total real twat :D (hope he wont post anymore as i'll remind him about his famous "meetup" post :p), keep on pretending he was busy/sick, wifi didnt work & so on, when he wanted to meet him & so on :spank: even though their hotel was closed by 100meters )

There are not so many meetups post for ibz 15 end august...
One advice is to have the more contacts u can have there, as once there in Ibz, u can divide the number of contacts by four or more :D
was checkin for ibz from august 1 to 16 august (as i may go along this period), price are insane 1700€ , kind of 130€ a day
August is not a good idea for ibz trip....(unless i make a deal with my best ibz spotlight mate :p )
