sofa beds

I see so many apartments for 3 + people, yet almost none of these have 3 beds... they have a sofa bed.

Is it just basically sleeping on the sofa?..

(bon sol specifically)

I'm quite small, so its not like my legs are going to hang over the edge.

And, if they not really beds, why do they advertise them as having room for 3 or more people to sleep if one person doesn't get a decent place to sleep!
 
Sofa beds are sofas that fold out into full size beds. They come in varying degrees of quality from large peices of foam that pull out to full sprung mattresses on a folding frame.
