i think the baleric island govt, and then local municipal councils...i'm sure one of the ibiza residents would explain fully.........Stephen/McCrackin?
 
ibiza has its own government. The government that is in power today were voted in last year i think. But from what i can see they have done nothing good for the island and everything bad, so far.

And then you have the disco mafia who seem to be running the island.

anyway, its all corrupt.
 
The balearic government is conservative, the same party as Jose Maria Aznar, who lead the country to the war and Abel Matutes :evil:
 
This party that rules the governement in Baleares has been elected last year, the ones before used to be called the Pacto de Progress that was a mixture of four partys (PSOE, PSM, UM. IU). They was is power for four years, before them used to be the same party of now, as allways. In Baleares the Partido Popular is allways in power, they allways win in the elections. The Pacto de Progress had ecologist ideas wich I wanted for my Islands but they lost the reelection because people here prefere the conservative.
The Pacto the Progress as I said was a mixture of partys, when they was in power the real winner was the Partido Popular, but they didn't have enougf amount of votes, so the oposition went together.

As I say I preferred the Pacto just for the ecologism. They started a railway in Mallorca that now is working. And they put a tax called ecotasa thas was supposed to be paid by tourist, an euro for day and person.They was against the motorway, this was one of the reason the Partido Popular didn't get so much votes the other time. Now the first thing they did ehen they won in Mallorca is to build the motorway.

The point is, that I do not think that this party that now is in power has anything to do with this that is happenning in Ibiza, because a part of this four years they have allways been in power.The Partido Popular is interested in all sort of activitys related with money this is why the let people build everywhere and the do not mind if they are spoiling the island.

The thing of not letting bars play music is a problem of license, probably what happened is that somebody that do not want this bars to be so succesful have repported them to the police or the council, that has the obligation to do what the law says, that is, that if you want to play music you have to have a license that allow you to play it.
Apart of laws about license there are also laws about noises, about ecologism, that has also to be taking into account.
I do not think that all this bars will shut, what they will do, and ceirtainly they doing, is ask for the license or solve the reason that took them away the license. If they do not have it back is because they are doing something ilegal that has anything to do with morals. The clubbing has been in Ibiza for years the same that the conservative party.

So I hope they find a way around the problem and they get the proper license to open next year (Bora-Bora, DC10, etc).

I think it is more the problem that the Ibicenco's vote PP.
Now we have sidewalks in the middle of the desert, while you can't walk were you are suppose to. This typical Spanish mess needs politicians who concentrate on the public problems. :idea:
 
I run Ibiza. Have done for a long time. Got it off my chest at last.
 
If there was a comitte of representatives of all the Ibiza tourists, that would rule the island. Ibiza population multiplies by 10 or more during the summer. :P

It's much easier: spread the season! Ibiza is paradise in May, June and a part of July, and October and November. Forget the holiday tourist business and focus on what the island has to offer. This clubbing hype is really killing anybodies business now it is going bad for all reasons you can imagine. It is the same story on all tourist islands and resourts ANYWERE, so it is not ibiza-specific.

You have to invent the reason that people will come out of season yourself.

That's why we are here to promote just that. Attrackt visitors troughout the year instead of this Mixmag Easyjet period of 8 weeks everybody's getting crazy. IT IS ALL ABOUT PROMOTION!

Spread the good news: the island is free, clubs are closed, Ibicencos are happy, stupid tourists are gone, sun still shining at 30-ths.

I do not see any promotion of this kind anywhere! That's a kind of stupid and that is why we jump into it. Check our website in the next months.
