I can’t heap enough praise on everyone involved in Friday’s So… at The Rhythm Factory. That’s DJs, party people, friends, the staff down there and even big Vernon, the head bouncer! (Special mentions to temporary staff Mark Sun, Mr. Scoobie and my ever wonderful girlfriend a.k.a. ‘the current’, who all did stints on the cash desk while I was running around the place. Mr Scoobie seems to like it out there – think there might be a position available in the So… ranks for you there!
) Thank you all ever So… much!
BBS & Al did the virtually impossible – tempted people from the front bar into the club at 9pm in the evening. Sterling work chaps and always good to see you guys plus Karen and your gang. (Was disappointed you didn’t have your MAW outfits on though!
) That gave us the start on which to build – I’d say all the DJs turned in best ever performances off the back of it.
Mark Sun – thought that you were as good in the earlier slot as you are normally in the deep dark hours mate. Gutted I didn’t catch Tim Davison in the backroom – I was covering East London with flyers most the time he was on.
The crowd was absolutely great 8) – we had more women in than last time and that always does something for the atmosphere. We were rammed long before Stu Hirst came on at 1.30am, and there wasn’t much of a drop off until gone 4. Stu – we salute you - no-one with half a brain was gonna leave that dancefloor. Your comments in another post on not been confined musically work both ways – you read the crowd and played whatever they wanted to hear – that’s why they reacted So… well. (Hello to Neilly and your lot too!). 8)
I hope you all checked out the deep house crew of Matt Young and friends in the back room from 12 too. Every time I popped in there I heard something I didn’t expect and every time it worked perfectly!
Also good to meet DiscoDude and to see the cream of Spotlighters (only joking those who weren’t there!), including SuperD and friends, Coley, the Scoobies, the Rustys (or is that Rusties? – could end up back on ‘fish’ or ‘fishes’ here) and more. Those I haven’t mentioned by name – apologies it was long weekend and I’ve probably got much more to remember yet.
Again - thank you all ever So… much!
Eyes down for the boat party on August 14! 8)
