So.. Did anyone go to Manumission??

Yeah i was there this year and it was an awesome night when it got to about 4am and the beer boys had finally started to fade away then you could finally breathe, the show they put on was quite good although it did seem short lived (perhaps i missed some!?).

but all in all it was a cracking night and the space after party lived upto every expectation that i had. although it seemed like i was one of the very few who don't take party smarties.

Yea I went and didn't enjoy it. I left about 3.30. Gutted about it now because I should have given it a chance but I wasn't in the right frame of mind to put up with wall to wall Reebok and Rockport.
 
i know its early surely manumission isnt full at this time of year?! i went end of july last yr and it wasnt
 
me and my mate was guna go 2 the openin party monday but we dint av a way 2 get back so we went 2 floor fillers at eden instead lol! that was good enuf and on the way home we was chattin 2 a bloke who sed it was crap at manumission! he said he couldnt move it was 2 packed! :? :roll:
 
Bar M even though it wasn't advertised.. allowed you on the returning busses to catch a free lift back.. which my mates did...

Sy... mate it was the opening party hence it was near capacity.. and if you were in the main room during the sex show.. as was i... you got absolutely squashed to oblivion... and the dome (golf ball/ open air chill out suite) was rammed most of the time... so we just avoided the busy parts...

and after about 4 am it was a hell of a lot quieter... i loved it...

especially when seven nation army was dropped... oh and new order.. that was pretty funky...
 
Just back. Manumission was one thing for us IMHO..........CRAP!

Will do a full review later one when I have more brain cells.

what time was teh sex show and stuff lie that, we left about half 5/6 o'clock last time we were there:(

plan to go the whole distance this time

was due to a major hangover btw:D

Got there about 1.30 am and waited in the queue for about 1 hour to get in. Left about 6.30 am.

They don't do sex shows there anymore.

I felt very let down after manumission. I expected a lot more from what ive heard and all the hype. It was still a good night but like i said wasn't left breatheless by the theatrics. Although the guy that fell from the roof draped in the curtian was pretty cool but my buddy told me that happened last year. What was the "theme" that everybody talks about. S and M? That is the same every year. Or did i miss something?

Meh you know what i mean.. the openin bit with nekid (ish) ladies
and i know there were nekid ladies most of the night..

and lets be fair.. if you didn't stay in the main room bits.. you would have missed some of the spectacular effects and show they put on.. but still when you have a club that huge... it needs to be some show to make it stand out...

and i don't think they achieved it but still i had a great night... each to there own

(but yeah that queue was shite... and the beer boys in burbery and rockports were doing my tits in.. but they soon buggered off)

First and foremost ... i did not see what the big deal was.... second it is a serious fire hazard.... god forbid that a fire was to start there is no where to run its to packed... then i was sad to see that we saw some girl who was sayin someone slipped something into her drink and she was really paranoid and screaming crying... really not a good thing and her friends just sat her down and left her there... how the hell can someone do that and say that they are ur friends ...???? i would have got her out of there asap... imagine if she got worse how can u get her out if there are so many people... that was a disgrace....


so in my opinion been there done that and never again... u couldnt even dance...??


ps.. the show was not a big deal the dancers were so so... u see better dancers in the states...the difference is that the dancers out here that get all the people watching and stuck are just average clubbers.... the best dancers in the world were in Sound factory Nyc... no competition....

I went to the Manumission opening party this year, it was the first time i've been in 9 years and I most definatly wont be going back. The main room was like a 400 degree sardine can. How they let so many people into the club is unbelievable. In most places you couldn't hear the music properly and there was no room to dance. I don't like to moan about people but it seemed that most of the San An muppets turned up. We partied in the second room most of the night with the massive fans keeping our temps down and a much better mix of people and music.
If you don't go to Manumission at Privilege make sure you DO make it to the after party at Space. WOW! Now that was a day!
