OK as a few might have seen his twitter/instagram updates, it looked like he wouldn't be performing tonight, but it seems he's on his way now.

according to official ushuaïa info, he'll be performing later than originally planned - at around midnight - and therefore ushuaïa will close later tonight.

Snoop Dogg is on his way to ‪#‎ibiza‬. We apologize for any inconvenience. It’s party time at Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel (Official). Here are the official set times:
7pm - 9pm Paul Reynolds
9pm - 10.30pm Pete Tong
10.30pm - 12.30am DJ Sneak
12.30am - 2:00am Snoop Dogg

Back in 2011, before the EDM explosion of nights on Ibiza, there were a lot of debate about the number of hip-hop / live acts that were coming to Ibiza to perform. It was mainly at the MTV night at Amnesia that was pis_ing a lot of people off. The snoop event caused a lot of people to get on their high-horse (me included), partly due to the near death experiences due to over-crowding and that the crowd was viewed as un-friendly etc etc.

But you know at least these guys actually are legends within their genre's. When you look at Snoop in hip-hop, Chic etc in Disco, Placebo etc and the quality acts at Ibiza Rocks (and jesus even Kylie within POP is a legend) - I mean compare these guys to the press-play EDM DJs that are now classed as "artists" and I think I know what I'd prefer....

A bit strange that they didn't call Rihanna

Ushuaia is a better venue for this sort of 'concert' than Amnesia by far. I've personally got no beef with hip-hop generally and used to be in to it in my yoof ( :D ) ... N.W.A.'s Straight Outta Compton was one of the first LPs I really got into and liked Eminem in his early days too . But I don't think I'd want to go see Snoop do what reports say played out there. Never been one for concerts really (unless it's Jazz !).

I've also softened my prejudices on G-House since going to a White Party on Cameo Island in Zante a week last Sunday where Cuff did a later hours take-over with Amine Edge & Dance. Maybe it was the lack of a gangsta "London scene" alongside it and the fact they played a great set, but was one of the most dance-friendly and rocking parties I've been to in ages. Warm-up sets were exceptional too. Really enjoyed it, sweated buckets and everyone properly 'having it'. No nastiness anywhere and everyone very polite to each other and well behaved.

The odd over-exuberant footwork here & there but the advantage of having sand and uneven surfaces as a dancefloor is that excessive moonwalking is curtailed and there's no space for major shuffling. Minor shuffling is fine by me . I'd take a night like that over a minute exposed to R&B, EDM or a 'minimal tech-house' bore-fest any day .
