smoking in pubs new law in UK

We were in Dublin after the smoking ban was introduced and it didn't seem to put people off one bit. All the bars and pubs were heaving. On our first night our there I thought everyone was queuing to get into the bars but it turned out they were outside having a ciggie Lots of places there had little terraces with a heater for the smokers - on-one seemed to mind going out either.

If clubs are smoke-free you'll be able to smell the pissy toilets from wherever you are in the building. FACT!

personaly im happy i wont have to smell of cigarettesanymore, as thats by far the worst part for me and so dan disgusting when you wake up the nect morning and your hair smells like someone emptied an ashtray on my head! :x

That may be... but we can choose not to go. It's a different matter for the staff. The decision was the right one, people are talking about it being a smoking ban in the UK, but it's not - Northern Ireland and Scotland had already voted on it and Wales is going to, this Act only applies to England and England would have looked very silly if it was the only part of the UK not to have a ban. The places that have been left out are exempted because they are people's homes as well as being workplaces. In years to come we will wonder what all the fuss was about and laugh at any European country that still allows smoking in workplaces.

they should be banning those who spike your drink and run away with your bag too!
neverthought this could actually be true: but happened to me last night, had 2 glasses of wine - woke up, in my bed naked thinking what am i doing here????? i cannot remember ANYTHING from last night, other than leaving the wine to go to the loo, coming back, drinking that second glass and then apparently passing out in the pub toilet and getting home in a taxi (my colleague phoned me and she told me, they virtually had to carry me out....oh dear!)
