Single ladies be careful where you drink

My husband & I and my two daughters, aged 21 & 23 were staying in a villa in Siesta, Santa Eulalia for a week in early September '04. One night they walked into Santa Eulalia to the promenade for a few drinks. There were not many places open late but they found a bar not far from Mariners that was open. It was not very busy and they started chatting to the staff. After a few drinks my eldest daughter began to feel very unwell. She became disorientated, dizzy, and began to feel sick. The night security man rang a taxi for her, and advised her to go to hospital, but she came back to the villa as she had no way of contacting me to let me know. On arrival at the villa, she had severe pains in her stomach and was sweating profusely. After about 30mins this stopped and then she was freezing cold and shaking. My two daughters go out clubbing most weekends in Derby, and she has never had a reaction like this before. We can only conclude, that something was put in her drink. So single young ladies beware where you drink.

Re: SINGLE LADIES BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU DRINK

Sorry to hear that - sounds awful.

Everyone these days, wherever you are, no mater what sex / age you are should watch your drinks – if I need to go to the toilet I always take it with me or ask my mates to watch out for it. I have had my drink spiked before and now I never let my drink out my site. It is not a pleasant experience being spiked.

hi joecrow,

that sounds like an awful experience - your poor daughter.

to be honest though, i'd be surprised if it really was a drinks spiking incident - especially in santa eulalia. it could have been something she ate - even a bad reaction to the water - maybe the bar used tap water in the ice cubes and she had a bad reaction to that.

i don't mean in any way to detract from the unpleasantness of the situation, but in 13 years here i've never heard of anyone of my friends or friends' friends having their drinks spiked.

i will second aaron's advice though - alwasy be careful with drinks (and belongings)
