Simbad, Argos or Playa in Talamanca?

Looking at the three of these hotels. Which one would people recommend? All seem about the same, 4 star, standard. The Argos is the closest but I've read that the walls are quite thin which has put me off.

Ideally, I'd like one which is clubber-friendly.

Simbad is good stayed there last year. Argos is around 10mins walk closer to the action.

But you won't go wrong in the simbad views from the bar terrace are amazing over to Ibiza town.

Very Clubber friendly, oh and there is a brothel across the road that gives some humour to the location.

Hey Clara, have you looked at El Corso?

I've stayed there twice... it's also in Talamanca but right next to the ferry to Ibiza Town (which runs every hour or half hour). Nice hotel with a great view of the harbor and Ibiza Town. Clubber-friendly but relatively quiet so a nice retreat when the clubbing day is done. 5 minute walk to Talamanca beach...

Has that not closed for development? I thought looked a bit scary when I saw it last year!

Was really surprised by how disappointing Ocean Drive looked - was expecting so much more.

Scary? Not at all!

I quite liked the place. The location was quite convenient...we'd take that boat to Ibiza Town for dinner and/or drinks, then from there to the El Divino dock and walk over to Pacha, then walk home afterwards.

The rooms vary in size depending on what floor you're on, but they're mostly of decent size. I liked the bar areas as well with budget priced drinks and big windows that look out on the harbor. However, one thing missing in many rooms is a refrigerator.

There's a couple of nice restaurants across the way in the harbor as well, and Talamanca beach on the other side.

I heard the hotel got bought but I'm not sure about renovations...

Not The El Corso

We have visited Talemanca for the last 8 years. The El Corso is in dire need of a refit. The rooms are now very worn and stale like the attitude of the staff. I swore after last year i would not stay there again. The possition is Ideal i know but this year i have booked the Simbad wich has been modenised to a 4 star during the closed season. Looking at it, im sure it will be worth the extra 5 min walk to the ferry.
Also the Hotel is directly on the beach wich suits me fine as this year in June im going alone and getting a bit long in the tooth for clubbing.
Looking forward to traveling around Ibiza and Formentera d chilling on the beach.
Dissapointed and suprised to hear there is a knocking shop in that area, thought they would be confined to BDB or Figs. :o

I can't believe the Corso has gotten THAT rundown in the 3 years since I last stayed there, but if you say so...

The staff were perfectly nice to me. The barmen practically had my beers poured before I opened my mouth to order.

I thought the Sinbad looked a bit rundown before but it also has a great location right on the beach (and a nice patio restaurant, if I remember correctly) so if they've recently renovated it to 4star then it's probably just as good an option or maybe even better.

It's looking like the Simbad for me in July, unless we go for a private apartment or villa.

thats right guys!!

Is it literally over the road? If so, I don't think I want to stay in a hotel which has a brothel directly over the road. Or in the area at all, really. :?

It is directly across the road.

But don't let it put you off the simbad is a great hotel.

I can get the Argos but I was put off people saying in reviews that the walls were thin.

All a bit of a dillema!

lol at the walls thing... what you planning on doing?  What are your dates?

It's more that I don't want to be able to hear people in other rooms which is what I read in a couple of reviews.

I'd be looking at around 7 to 21 July.
