SHIPPING DJ EQUIPMENT FROM THE U.S TO THE U.K-HAS ANYONE DONE THIS SUCCESSFULLY?!?

Hi guys,
I’m looking to purchase DJ equipment from the U.S to be shipped to the U.K (CDJ’s/DJM) . Has anyone done this successfully? Are there any reputable companies that are known to ship heavy items to the U.K from abroad? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards

Have a franchise with DHL. Have to collect money of people when they've ordered outside the EU. Quite sure you'd at least be charged the Vat element of total value declared on shipping invoice.

I bought an old cdj from u.s. wasnt clued up about imprt duty but knew it was a risk. unfortunately i got stung and had to pay the tax. still worked out cheaper but not by loads. this was like 5yrs ago

Its probably about 4% import duty plus 20% VAT, charged on the sales price plus shipping and insurance.

And even if you think about it, don't bother with false value declaration on the shipping declaration. Customs do have Internet.

I've ordered camera gear from Hong Kong in order to avoid duty (grey market) and not been stung yet. That said, there's no duty on camera bodies, but there is on camera lenses, so whenever I buy a lens the place I use marks the box as a camera body.

Might not work for DJ gear - pretty big and heavy, plus it's much easier to tell what it is without opening it.

You'll need a power transformer too for the differences in mains electricity voltage.
I believe UK CDJs \ DJMs are switchable, USA ones are not. Can pick one up from Maplins.
