The Hacienda will not be (re)built, but thanks to the Shindig club in Newcastle it'll be possible to relive some classics from the glory days of the infamous Manchester institution.

Once dubbed by Newsweek magazine as the most famous club in the world, the Hacienda opened in opened its doors on 21st May 1982 and became a huge success from the late 80's until its closure in 1997, shortly after its 15th birthday.

The club laid the foundation for house music culture as we know it today with their Friday 'Nude' night becoming the most influential night in the UK at the time. Stars that boosted their careers with gigs at the venue include New Order, Oasis, Blur, The Smiths and even Madonna.

Now you get the chance to relive some of the magic as former Hacienda resident Tom Wainright will take clubbers on a musical journey back to the days of 80's aciiiiiid house, playing on "oldskool" 1210's with original decor (bar the swimming pool that was sometimes built up in the main room). Welcome, to another summer of love!

It's on the 24th April by the way, and Tom's also playing a set in the main room, along with Wooly... :)
