Any off you do professional dancing?? I really wanna start doing classes, Ive tried to do "funk" classes before but they were to fast :roll: so im going to give modern a bash and then try other styles......Sure you all turn into professional dancers in Ibiza :D :D :D
 
I'd love to start dancing professionally (even just for stage/clubs or whatever 8O ) but have noooo idea how to get into it :roll: My friend is into all that acting/dancing etc and has an agent, but Im not keen to be paying someone a ton of money (she never gets any work anyway so he must be crap).

Pineapple dance studios are just round the corner but their memberships like £100 and you still have to pay for the classes anyway (which are like £8 a time).

I guess I'll just stick to impersonating Britney on the dancefloor ;)

My sister used to be a pro dancer, but gave it up because her agent would basically try and bully her into bulimia, forever telling her she was overweight (and she absolutely was not, she always got work). All the other girls there had some eating disorder or another.

Just a word of warning. The competition is very fierce, and if it means losing another pound then that's what a lot do.

The agents would have a bl00dy heart attack if I walked into their office then :roll:
The kind of dancing I'd like to do would be like as a backing dancer for pop people (for example Jamelia). They dont have to be mega-slim do they? :?:

You'd think not, but you'd be very surprised. Newcomers were highly welcomed, then gradually they'd get sucked into this weight-loss spiral. It was the prevailing atitude around, that to get good work you had to be thinner than your competitors, because generally most girls were really good, it just went down to things like weight to swing the job.

I'm not necessarily saying this is the case all over btw. Just from hanging around them all when my sis was dancing (ta sis ;) :lol: )

me & my mate are currently looking for an agency for us to dance in clubs :) hard work though a lot of compettition :(

Wow that sounds really nice....do you dance professionally already?
Ive phoned around some dance studio's here in durban and found a place, going to start in April I think.....can't wait.....they teach hip hop also which I think would be lotsa fun...!!

me & my mate have danced for ages, my mate charlie she dances for clubs in norwich when she goes home 2 visit her family :) we are trying for some clubs in leeds/wakefield good experience but some of the girls are very bitchy 8O x good luck wi ur dancing chick :)
