Been going to Ibiza for years but staying in bossa next summer with the Mrs, thought wed save a few quid in taxis and buses to space etc. Usually get a cab after space around the marina but got a 15 min walk back to the hotel next summer but read on trip advisor and a few rummors last year about strange characters following people home after clubs, anybody else had this in bossa before? Nice one!

Yes. But it's not prevalent, nor is it exclusive to Bossa, or indeed Ibiza. Usual rules apply: stick to well lit areas. Don't take short cuts. Avoid walking alone. Don't accept lifts from strange men. In all seriousness though, you'll be absolutely fine. Just don't get so mangled you lose control of your senses. Jump in a cab if needs be, won't cost a lot and it gives you peace of mind.

Which hotel btw?

well said. playa d'en bossa is as safe or as 'dangerous' (depending on your point of view) as the rest of the island.

Ok Guys thanks, never felt unease haveing stayed in Ibiza Town before now, just thought id check after booking in bossa already, appreciated.

Mare Nostrum bit of party hotel.GPS group.3 min walk to start of strip.two bars across road.supermarket on site as such but turn right out of hotel big spar on corner.2 min walk to beach from hotel.hotel on main road to easy to get a taxi or bus to town.14 runs to town.some of the best music bars are turn right out of hotel till you come to an island turn right the round the bend passed jet complex.and they are on the right side of road.
As you walk in pdb strip there are side streets with bars etc worth a look.on the right side as you walk in.best really to just walk round and see what you fancy.
like said just keep your wits about you.
plus you have the beach bars bora bora etc and the hardrock and ushuaia.
party boats figuratus etc.turn left out of hotel across road 5min walk you will see a turning to the right look down and you will see all the boards and reps for trips.if you have not booked transfers taxi is 11 to 12 euro to hotel.figuratus is worth a nice walk round one night if you fancy a meal.while you are there check out a few more hotels and apts for maybe another time.
only real down side is far too many lucky lucky men.

i work in the industry, my interest in your opinion is sincere. Why you find this harmful for ibiza?

Me and Playa Den Bossa have a bit of a love/hate relationship and there is a bit of a long running joke on here about it. There have been numerous San Antonio v Playa Den Bossa threads on here over the years that wll provide you enough insight.

I am a bit old school and set in my ways when it comes to Ibiza and lets just say I prefer the orginal ethos rather than the new sparkly and commercial version (which I am sure lots of people do love)

my 2 cents... there will be too many 5 star beds, which then will have to be filled with discount promotions that are bought by people that don't fit the 5 star bill at all and this will result in an akward feeling in the property.

I used to work in the travel industry and have seen this effect plenty of times all over the world. I firmly believe that Ibiza as a whole and PdB especially don't need any more 5 star hotels.

I was thinking the same, how do they fill all these five star hotels? Not sure there is a large enough market and it will be interesting to see ocupancy rates.

I think it is great that there are some hotels providing better accomodation as choice in Ibiza has been poor over the years, but it should be more like the Ocean Beach Hotel that appears to be priced reasonably with positive feedback on rooms etc. It doesn't have to be 5 star.

What was the other hotel in San Antonio that was getting a refit for this year?

Apologies for taking this off topic from the OP.
