Have stayed in the Ses savines and its sister the hotel the Arenal.
Predominantly a family hotel with old style rooms which are quite sparse (the hotel is quite old), high ceilings and a bit musty. The front of the hotel overlooks the promenade and if your unlucky you will be given a room with a supposed sea view which is blocked by the trees on the outside of the hotel, (first floor only). The downside of the hotel was the noise from the promenade on a night from late night revellers so if you like a good nights kip or an early night then ask for a room at the back. It got so bad for me last year we were asked to moved to the self catering block to the side of the hotel which were much more modern and quiter.
The restaurant is the most bizarre ive been in, its controlled by a gistapo type character who allocates you a table for the duration of your stay, the problems is that if there are just two of you, you will be given a table to share with another couple as the majority of tables are 4 seaters. If your unsociable like me then its a nightmare. food is generally okay but you have to pay for drinks including water (even if your on half board), dont go into the dining room with no shoes or t shirts or you will be marched out. lol
Enterntainment is typical for a family style hotel, the usual magic shows, spanish dancers, karaoke and other various butlins style shows which appeals to the over 50's
On the plus side, is next to the beach, you get good views of the sea (above the first floor on the front), its close to the town so is walkable. Downside is that you have to pay for your aircon separately when you get there (depending on who you booked with).
Of course take a lot of my comments with a pinch of salt as they are a bit tongue in cheek, at the end of the day its a low cost old hotel which aint really too bad, the location is definitely its strong point for proximity to the town
