September

my Tip would be to book accommodation with the hotel direct but only if they do free cancellations
and pay on arrival.
that would cover both bases.
Hopefully this current situation won’t be an issue come August/September.

Me too. We booked in December before this thing began,
but have until the day before arrival to cancel.
As you say “que sera sera”

End of Sept for me and I'm still hopeful. The flight and hotel have been paid for in full but on the credit-card.

My holiday insurers insist the first port of call should be the card company, which is bizarre as I don't recall paying Mastercard for my protection. Also booked for June which is a write off, I'll see if Ryanair cancel and I get a full refund, and the hotel is only partially paid. I'll wait until the last minute.

With all this and the regularity of airline collapses - who on earth would now book months in advance? from now on my suitcase will be packed and ready for me to fly off with 24hrs notice (luckily I can do that) so there' less of a risk. But if everyone did something similar, the airlines won't have sold enough seats and have the cash-flow??
