September v July/August

Hello!

I was planning a trip to Ibiza in July however my plans this summer have changed and looks like I will be going elsewhere on holiday in July instead, however I would still really love a holiday in Ibiza this year so was thinking about coming in September instead if I am able to take the time off work etc (If not I'll have to wait til next summer to return to Ibiza L).
Anyways I've only ever been to Ibiza in July or August, so was wondering if there are any notable differences when visiting in September instead of July/August or is it pretty much the same?

september much much better month to go ==>

- almost everything still in full force
- but no silly overcrowding in clubs, restaurants, old town, on the beaches,
in the streets, etc. anymore
- still hot but not too hot
- summer holidays finished - most italians etc back in italy ;)
- way more interesting crowd than in high-season

Add the sea is still lovely and warm! But beware the start of the thunderstorm season - in my 10 years of going to Ibiza in September, it usually starts in mid-September! Best bet is to go early September, when the kids have gone home but the weather's still guaranteed. Mostly

I went first week of July and closings in September last year.

Weather was infinitely better in September by comparison, although weather at start of July was still reasonable - overcast most days and even a bit of rain - guess I was just unfortunate on this ocassion.

I felt in July the resorts were just about busy enough - beaches not overcrowded, no waiting for restaurant tables etc. But still plenty of people for a great holiday.

Agree with previous posts about the closings. Clubs are very busy. But unlike other times during the season atmosphere is far better.

Been several times in September last few years, and weather has always been spot on.

I always go in September, usually early September, except this year, because I want to be at Hed Kandi's closing on the 22nd. Can't add anything to what icebaer69 said above except that early September has the annual tomato fight, and I believe San Antonio is hosting some sort of festival by the fountains later in the month, but I need to check this one out.

Last week of August and up until closings is my favourite time. The kids, spectators and hangers on have gone back to school/work, and the real party starts....

September is always my preferred time to go. Been in June and July so far as well.

Sampling August for the first time this year but as ever booked for September again too :D

The last 2 times I have been to Ibiza have been in August, looking forward to seeing what its like in September!! I'm sure that whichever month you chose to go during, a holiday in Ibiza will always be awesome just because its Ibiza!!

There is only one downside in going in September - The weather.

Sometimes you can get away with it but other times it can be a bit of a pi$$er when its cloudy or rainy. Just something to consider if weather is an issue for you.

I personally dont like the atmosphere of San An in August, too busy and full of idiots who just want to fight and get drunk and be sick on the floor of the West End. September brought a lovely crowd of older people who loved the island, loved the atmosphere and just in general where a lot nicer. Lots of chilled out evenings enjoying a few drinks and chatting.

Weather at the beginning of Sept was still lovely, last year the promised thunderstorms didnt appear till way into October...The end was a bit cloudy though.

Weather-wise I do personally like it nice & hot but I'd hope that even if the weather wasn't great I'd still have a fantastic time!!

I really hope I can make it out to Ibiza this September if not I guess I'll have to wait til next September… Seems like ages away though!

You can't go wrong with the weather in the first 2 weeks in September. I went both July and September last year and everything was much better the second time. I knew what to expect in July but it does still get really busy in some places then. September is still the best time to go in my opinion the weather and crowds are just right.

adding on to that late sept into oct is nice as well.weather wise.once space closes though you notice a big drop in numbers.
