well....

not content with losing my phone on holiday, i get the pleasant surprise i racked up £750 of calls in 4 days on the island.





















gutted :(


as you can imagine, serious problems for september.
 
Oh dear, you ought to train yourself to use txt when abroad, it's a lot cheaper.

Just checked my phone account for last week in Ibiza;

2 international phone calls = £1.68
50 international txt messages = £20

My Ibiza phone bills are always stupidly high :roll: however I found the solution this year, my phone broke on the day we went so no time to get replacement, therefore couldn't use my phone all hols therefore zero Ibiza phone bill :lol:

I don't think I'm going to bother taking my phone with me at all in Sept, we have Tom's phone if we need to get in contact with anyone and everyone I want to see knows where to find me.
 
We bought a spanish pay as you go about 3/4 years ago, it's cheaper calling local etc and helps keep a track on how much your spending on calls. Also no massive bill when you get back.
 
yes yes yes i know all this, the beauty of hindsight...

im just feeling sorry for myself a bit, it seems a lot of the calls were accidental cause i dont remember making them. must've been going off in my pocket etc.

Replacement phone will cost at least - £100
Phone Bill - £750
Total - £850

Flights - £160
Accom - £70
Spending Money - £600
Total - £830

Lesson learned, albeit harsh. I took that phone as I figured it'd be a good camera for having in clubs. Silly mistake to make (when you get in the nick I do sometimes). I thought the bill would be hefty, maybe £250 max. Nothing prepared me for that. Just starting to get myself back on track with life/debt etc. Total suckerpunch.
 
Phil, tell them you can't afford to pay such a big bill and were not aware how much roaming charges could add up to. Ask if you can pay it off in a few installments?
 
aye. ive arranged to pay it over 4 months. still a hefty whack on top of loan and other debt. i dont have a great salary. ok for up here but im not a big earner. gonna need to get a pub job.
