Selling in UK to buy in Ibiza

is there anyone having the same issue as me? We have been trying to sell our place for a while now and thats all thats stopping us making the move to Ibiza! The place we live in is not a prob as it will go up for rental as an income, its the empty place we have thats being a slow sale. Is anyone else having the same issue? We want to be going over as cash buyers.
 
Welll I have some great news to share with all you Ibiza crazy friends..!. We have finally had an offer on our other property which we have accepted and it looks like its all going smoothly so as soon as the final completion is settled we will be over on the beautiful Island loking for our dream home!!!
our plans are ( due to partners job), to go over whenever he has one/ two of his weeks off and mosey round getting the feel of all the different areas. We won't be doing a l/t rental atm until my partner can get offered early voluntary retirement. We don't want to wait until he retires as thats around 15 years away and I'll look like my mother by then so thats defo out the window!! On the other hand he may take a sabbatical or even just leave the job. He is a very sensible person with money and as exciting as its all going to be ( providing this buyer doesn't back out) , we are going to be really cautious. Im so excited!!! We know Ibiza property is quite expensive and we have had the idea of buying on mainland Spain until we decide to sell the place we live in now in the UK; once we sell that we will have much more money & we can always take trips to the wonderful place over the sea until we buy there. One thing we have found hard is finding estate agents on Ibiza. There are plenty of bank repo sites and Kyero but we must be looking in the wrong places! Anyway you wonderful helpful people, if you have any info on estate agents etc please let us know. As you know selling can take several months sometimes due to slow solicitors, but this will give us time to sort NIE's and other things. I want to get more excited but until the money is in the bank I'm keeping calm..... I have been researching and reading other people's experiences for the last three years so if you think I have missed something, do let me know!! Thank you! Two friends have just drove from UK to southern Spain in an RV and say it was amazing! Im just praying this buyer keeps his word! He has been around today measuring up carpets so sounds really serious. I hope everyone who reads this essay are well and enjoying life. Love to you all xx ✈️✈️

There are plenty of real estate agents on Ibiza.
Next to PRs, this is the second most profession.
What price range are you looking for? Below 1M, up to 2M or above 2M?

Thank you for your kind and meaningful comments- its nice to know someones out there! I only have myself. Partner and 2 girls aged 11 and 13. We wont be saying good ye to any family as sadly thats the way our life went. Thanks again for your reply and to all the others who have liked and bothered ro reply and offer advice. When it come's to changing your Pounds for Euros do not take your first offer especially from bank, Talk to at least 3 exchange companies, (FX exchange etc) They all want your business and will compete hard for it, I "played" them for a day and saved/gained €27,000 on my Bank's "best" offer,
The other thing that may be useful is forward pricing, You can agree on an exchange rate today for a "forward period" eg you agree on €1.40 today for 6 months, pay a 10% deposit, You can complete the transaction any time in the next 6 months at the quoted rate no matter what the € has done,

Something else has sprung up lately- Im getting bank repos offered for say around €16,000 with 20% off that if we get rid of the squatters! How bad is this problem especially if we buy a holiday home to start with and leave it for a ciuple of months at first and fefurn to find it full of a load of old gypos! Also do you knoe if ( when it gets to that point) the police actually get them out,? Confusion..!!
 
get someone to house sit your villa or atp,lots of people willing to do it cheap.just to stay on the island or earn a bit of money over winter,gets cleaned etc.
 
Presuming by the price, This is on mainland ? As long as the house is reasonably secure here, Squatters are not a problem (most have shutters & bars on windows)

Yes is wedibately go dor the shutters and I wouldnt want anywhere roo remote! Had enough of that here. Its just you read these bloody horror stories on the net ...!!

How are you? I am still in the uk... Trying to raise more cash. Ive had terrible health issues which havent helped at all ✈️
