Seb Fontaine - TYPE Compilation

Anybody else got this??

After going so often to The Cross to this quality night, I thought i'd fork out £15 for the compilation to see if it could capture the night itself.

First thing to say is it's not split into two CD's like the The Cross is, with the main room and the funky room. The 2 CD's are main room music, and to be honest CD 1 isnt THAT much slower or less thumping than CD 2.

Dont know what it is about Seb Fontaine, but his sound is very easily recognisable to me, with very bassy tracks. Best way I can describe them is like aural thick double cream! Thats what these CD's are all about. Quality proggy sounds with bleeps.
Guess you cant say this compilation is a journey, because all the tracks are similar, but i'm not that bothered as they're all rocking.

My best tracks:
Chiapet "Westworld" Skylark mix
Zoot Woman "Grey Day" Paper faces mix
Sucker DJ's "Lotta Loving" Paradise soul Mix
Sebastian Ingrosso "Get It Back"
Alex Neri "Club Element"
..etc
It would been easier to name the 2 or 3 tracks which i didnt like

I am very anxious to hear this.... I saw Seb a couple weeks ago here and it was very.... average. I was disappointed. Which suprised me because I own one of his Global Underground CD's and I think it is killer. Is it anything like that?

I saw him on saturday at the cross and thought he was fooking great and met him in the VIP room and hes a proper nice bloke with it too. I like the way his sound is proggy with lots of breaks yet still keeps quite housey (if that makes sense to anyone)

I really want this compilation. so many tunes i love on it including Sucker DJ's "Lotta Loving" Paradise soul Mix a bit of a favourite (which incidentally also heard at type on saturday playd by the Sucker Djs themselves)

Back in the days of Ministry Mag, they had a covermount called 'the sound of Type' with the Savers doing the first half and Seb doing the 2nd - it remains one of my favourite mix CDs ever 8) 8)

Unfortunately none at the moment  I tend to go to London, Ibiza, Sheffield, festivals, but never seem to have made it to Leeds....mainly because all my clubbing buddies live in London (ex-Leeds people some of them). I've been trying to drag my newly converted clubbing mate up here to Leeds but something always seems to go wrong. What's Basics like? I've heard good and bad reports about the Mint Club, one guy I met in Space goes nowhere else, but my sister went and said the sound was crap.

Basics is obviously pretty legendary and cause the guests are so good is almost always a good night. Plus Ralph Lawson, Frenchy and the other residents are so good, jackin, boompety house. I like the fact the guets vary in style in the last few weeks Louie Vega, Layo and Bushwacka, Slam, Two Lone Swordsmen and in the next few months both Danny Howells and James Zabielia are playing for their first times.

I have to say i love the mint club just as much. IMO the sound is really good cause the club is small with a low ceiling, plus there is an outfoor terrace to chillout when it all gets a bit too much! The music is in turns Technique (breaks) and asylum (house). Usually go to Technique tho just cause they get the biggest names in Breaks and everyone who goes is always so up for it.

I advise you to go to both soon! Plus stinkys peephouse for Madhatters or Rudenot2 both play really good house with a jackin feel

Yeah, I noticed there were some cracking guests on at Basics, always are. And didn't Circo Loco visit Mint a month or so ago? I only found out after the event, that's one I could have definitely got my mate to go to, he loves Circo Loco. And Peephouse was on Tongy a couple of weeks back, wouldn't mind a pop at that.

Probably be after Christmas now unfortunately, I'm down in London twice before then (oddly enough it costs me about the same to go there as into Leeds).

Met him in Barcelona last week, and I completely agree with you, really nice guy.
