Scooter hire question

Apologies if this has already been posted before, had quick scan but couldn't find anything.

I'm going to be in Ibiza for around six months this summer, and this year I'd like to either buy or long-term rent a scooter for the summer. Trouble is, I only have a UK provisional licence and a CBT, which is okay to drive up to a 125cc in the UK, but I'm not sure what the law is in Ibiza. Anyone?

You can ride a 125cc moped with a category B license in Spain. I'd suggest buying one from Mainland Spain or locally, as if you want to resell it in half an year, it will probably turn out cheaper or free, in comparison to renting. You need NIE if you want it on your name though. The Cooltra guys from the fb link above are idiots, who stopped studying Maths after the 1st grade of primary school. They still had the 150€ a month sign in front of their shops in the beginning of August. When I wanted to rent for a month, they said this was if you rent for June, July and August(still keeping the signs, deluding the people passing by.) For August, they wanted 600€/month. So 3 months = 450€. 2 months less and you have to pay 150 more...
If you want to rent, I'd suggest Formentera Auto. They have a shop in PDB near Figuerretas. Their prices are highly negotiable.
