Anyone seen this yet? Quite keen to go after reading news reports about people fainting in the cinemas at the extreme nature of the film 8O

oooh was just about to post about this too...

I want to go tonight - but got plans now

If anyone goes - post a review it looks absolutely horrible......

I really hate these kind of films. I like a bit of jumpy horror, but these gorey films are just sick!! What kind of messed up minds actually think up this stuff? I've never watched them but I watched "Greatest Ever Scary Movies" on telly the other night and they showed a clip where some guy has to saw off his own foot!!!! 8O 8O 8O WTF is that all about? Its not even good film making it's just pure torture!

Hearing people have had to be taken to hospital after watching Saw 3 just puts me off even more!

anyone who had to go to the hospital after watching this is just a wet blanket!

I liked saw because it was a nice idea which hasnt been countlessly reused. The second one was a bit naff but still enjoyable. This one was a disappointment really. I dont get particularly bothered by serious gore (on-screen) i just wince a little into a steven hawking-esqe stance. I can see some people having trouble watching the skull operation with household tools but you just need to remember that your watching a movie.

Its not a film i'll be rushing to see again nor purchase on dvd in the future. Bit of a let down really. They should have left at at saw II.

Saw was a very clever original film in my opinion and excellent viewing.

Saw 2 was a little bit of a let down for me but it had a lot to live up to. I'm looking forward to the latest offering but i'm pretty sure they can't take this any further a la friday 13th

I thought Saw was genius to be honest - and it was quite tongue in cheek with the acting slightly on the hammy side (Vincent Price eat your heart out!! ) I thought Saw II was dire but then I did watch it on a crap copy, you know the type, a film watched through a snowstorm, watched through a letterbox type thing.

I would like to see Saw III if only to see its as good as the first - I usually find that a sequel is pretty bad, but they learn from that and sometimes produce a pretty good third... (but I really like it when they do a prequel to an original - unless of course its Star Wars.....:spank: )

Saw was absolute toss, acting was so shocking i actually wanted them to die a painful, slow death. I reckon the scariest thing in the film was this:

I don't think its that clever i think Se7en is far superior and Saw copies most of its ideas i reckon.

I saw that programme the other day, even watching the clips made me feel funny so god help me if I ever watched the whole film. Definitely agree scarier is better then gory

Whilst Se7en may be a decent film, Saw is an entirely different format so I dont think you can compare the two. Saw is based around the victims struggle whereas se7en covers an investigation into the crimes. The only similarity is that victims are being 'judged' for their lifestyle.

Watched Saw 3 on Sunday, and whilst its not brilliant I thought it was a lot better than 2, as it ties up the story.

Its definitely more gruesome than 2 as well, my mates brother had to go out and be sick after they showed the first new victim of Jigsaw. The gore doesnt bother me too much now, as the first film pretty much conditioned me to it, but there were still one or two 'look away' moments :?

That's my weekend plans sorted then.....

lol i cant believe he had to be sick. What a sad act

Fair play if it was real... but remember its a movie hehe. I guess you mean the guy in chains? For those who havent seen it; a guy is chained up but he is attached to them because rings on the end of the chains are embedded in his skin. Through his hands, jaw etc. He has to rip them out of his own body to break free.... charming.

Becs i think the worst bit is probably a long closeup of drilling into jigsaws skull, then cutting out a square to relieve pressure on his brain.

Sounds horrific 8O Think I'll be giving that one a miss!

Funny but I can watch things like Trauma uncut, where people have bloody injuries / operations etc and I'm fine, and that's real life gore aswell 8O

Its the opposite for me - I cannot watch real life gore - films dont bother me - its a film and my brain can cope with that - real life gore tho' - urgh ......I am a nightmare in an emergency situation......

I think I'm comforted by the fact that normally on these programs the patient is unconscious when they're having a hole drilled into their head or whatever  It's these gory films when the poor captive is awake when he's having horrible things done to him that makes me 8O

haha thats like that autopsy program with that german guy. They did one about male and female genitalia and i got talked into watching it... i sat there trying to eat a cheesy pizza whilst the guy cut open a nut sack and showed how far the balls will extend out of the body..... I felt a little rough!!!

I went to see his exhibition in Brick Lane a few years back - and that didnt bother me neither - non of it seemed real at all - in fact it was more like an Art exhibition rather than something squeamish - really enjoyed it too...

I bought Phil the full glorious technicolour book from the exhibition - he wasnt impressed like....
