Santander cash machines

I bank with alliance and leicester-now santander and as a result I get free withdrawals at santander machines in spain. I'm going to san an bay soon and I know there's a santander machine in town beside the chemists near the fountains but does anyone know if there are any santander machines in the bay near the hotel s'estanyol? Cheers in advance!
 
I would be very careful.
The Santander in spain is a different bank.
I have an Spanish account at Santander in Ibiza town and you cannot make transactions into the account through UK highstreet Santander's or do things like check your balance at the counter etc
You can only use the branch in London (not much use when you live in Cheshire)
I would double check that you don't get charges
 
The best solution is to get a travelex card and load cash up on to this.

You get free cash withdrawals in the whole of Europe.

Interesting - don't they charge 2% loading fee up-front though for Sterling cards ? The one I got from them does anyhow.
 
Apparently it's an arrangement between santander uk and santander spain. I've done it a few times and always carefully checked my statement when I get back. Absolutely no charges and a decent rate too. It wouldn't be worth getting a dedicated fx card as I'm usually just over on the island for a couple of days at a time so it's handy to be able to just take cash out without having to go through all the hassle of transferring in then transferring back out when I'm back in the uk. So, back to my original question-anyone know if there are any santander machines in the bay?

Don't think there are. I went for a wander from the Bellamar quite a way round the bay and there was only one cash machine that someone had smashed up on the main road. Jump on the ferry boat and that will take you to virtually outside the bank for about 4 euros return.... Or just take cash with you if its a hassle and if you are only there a couple of days
 
I bank with Santander as well and have withdrawn cash from all the telebanco atm's and never received a charge, and they are everywhere in San An, Ibiza town and PDB

Telebanco, you say-I'm sure even the Santander branch by the fountains in San An has their branding on it so it makes sense!

Just checked, and Telebanco is a network, kinda like Link or (for those of you old enough to remember) Matrix. I'll trt it on my next trip and see how it turns out.
