When i found out he was next in the Master's Series i was a bit surprised to say the least.. Sandy rivera??!!!

Well i put my trust on the label, and the compilation doesnt disapoint too much. It's not the best they've done. Dave Seaman's and Hernan Cattaneo's compliations are far better.

Sandy does still manage to stick in a few vocal soulful type tracks which shouldnt be on a Renaissance album in my opinion, but then he does get darker, and by CD 2 its pretty much proggy all the way.

My best tracks are:

Rodamal - Insomnia
KoT - 6am (Mark Knight remix)
Klement Bonelli - Nocturnal

hearing Rivera has signed renaissance is almost like hearing that Tevez has signed for the hammers. Nothing amazes me in this world

interested to hear this mix, however doubt I want to spend hard earned money on it.

c'mon ferd.............renaissance is about good quality underground house music (yeah its on a progressive tip) but back in the day (  ;)) people like morales, knuckles, masters at work, bad boy erick as well as PAs from the usuals soulful divas were all common in the renaissance stable.

ask sasha (IMO the definitive prog/renaissance DJ) what his fav track is in the history of dance music and he'll name you a deep house soul wrenching vocal laden US house classic.

sandy is latino so soulful music is in his blood..........doesn't mean he can't prog it up tho. IMO most of his productions of late have been somewhere in between renaissance and defected.

just like the hammers history of home grown talent, yet could we be moving onto a bigger scale:lol:

Sorry, Renaissance is more than just on a "progressive tip"!! if you talk about right now (not back in the day ;) ) its mainly progressive.

If Sandy Rivera played a funky house set at renaissance everyone would be rather bemused. One or the other had to budge when they combined for this Master Series, and it was he that turned more proggy rather than renaissance churning out a more funky house compilation.

He does say in the comments that he's moving on as a DJ blah blah blah, so he's clearly getting less funky as he gets older! theres still a distinct soulful flavour to the compilations so he's not forgotten his roots entirely. But in my opinion, i much prefer the Hernana Catteneo and
Dave Seaman, maybe its becuase thats why i expect from Renaissance.

About sasha favourite track, its all great he'd chose deep souful house track, im just glad he didnt play it at TDK!! ;)
