As one of Holland's most successful DJ's, Sander Kleinenberg has been playing music all his life, but his big break came when Erick E invited him to play at Holland's renowned club RoXY in Amsterdam. From that point onwards, his career really started to take shape and after his talent was spotted by Sasha and Excession, Sander Kleinenberg was ready to join the top ranks of international DJ'ing and became one of the first to make an international name for himself after the first generation of superstar DJ's, which included Carl Cox, John Digweed and Nick Warren to name a few.
At the moment, Sander is busy working away in his studio to complete a new and exciting project for one of the leading colourful ladies of today's pop music, on which he comments to Xpander:

"Times have changed and it's a known fact artists like the Chemical Brothers and Daft Punk have turned pop projects down in the past, because they simply could at that time, the state of pop music was not what it is today, production wise. But if you look at what comes out of the hands of pop producers like The Neptunes, and pop examples like Justin Timberlake then its almost impossible not to be inspired by that.

"I am very excited of my new Everybody album. Some of the stuff is very exclusive material, especially my new track 'The Fruit' is something new and exciting. I am happy some of the artists from LMR (Kleinenberg's record label) have found their way on the album as well, such as Psycatron, Hydroponix and Michael burns. It proves to me that with LMR I am on the right track of things. I really see LMR as a way to give something back to the dance industry by releasing stuff from talented artists and give them a platform for their music.

"I will never forget how Erick E gave me that chance at the RoXY, so I owe him a lot, actually. Those days, coming from the far east of Holland, I was really dreaming about playing at that club. Now I am in a position to give something back, so I am really happy to do so"

Sander has also been playing with a new toy this year to mix audio and visuals together, leading to some fantastic results using Pioneer's DVJ-X1. He will begin a global tour this month with album launch parties taking place for Renaissance at both The Cross in London and the newly opened Stealth in Nottingham, both on Saturday 25th September and the latter of which will involve a special DVJ set. October will see Sander going down under to Australia, then up into Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, China and Japan, and then on to venues in the USA.

Kleinenberg's next Everybody release will be celebrated at the next Everybody event at Panama in Amsterdam with a 5-hour set! This fresh compilation in the series has been named 'This is Everybody Too!' and will be available in the shops from Friday 24th September. Further information through the links. (09/16/04)
