WOW!

Thank you so much! :D

Yes that is the church I get married in next year, I stupidly forgot to take some pics when I was out there last week and have been searching the Web for some.

Thank you, how come you have so many pics of it?

really? aww spill the beans sandy!

Yes, we decided to get married in our favorite place on earth 'Ibiza', I am so excited.

80 of our family and friends are coming over too, we will marry at 5.30, then go to 'La Torre' for the reception and watch the sunset!

It will be my dream come true, 7 1/2 months to go!

:D

Looks like fun.

I have tried to send one of your pics to my fiance's folks and they are having trouble opening it.

If I copy and paste can I send it as a JPeg?
How do I do this?

sandi will be happy to know that they have changed all the seats of the church and now
are brand new!! :P

in related news, san rafael is celebrating its fiestas (tomorrow is the big day). believe it or
not, last night they had 3 djs playing bangin techno next to the church (and tonight they
have a hard rock band).......... only in ibiza!!

and this is how the famous local painter (and teacher of mine in the past :D ) antoni pomar
represented a typical fiesta day in san rafael:

AntoniPomar_Work69.jpg

Sant Rafael holds Party during the Hottest October in Memory.

With temperatures more like middle summer than the end of October, the residents of Sant Rafael held their annual celebrations in honour of their village's patron Saint. There were the usual mix of sports, social, cultural & civic events as well as the religious ceremonies & processions held all week. Particularly the folk dancing & other cultural acts were well attended & applauded by the public celebrating the end of summer. A rock concert on Saturday night featuring the Can Raia Rock Band & Statuas de Sal was a sell out with the groups performing all their hits in front of a very supportive audience until the early hours of the morning.
Sunday was the biggest day of fiestas with all the politicians & other civil dignitaries congregating in the village square to attend the religious service in honour of the village, which was followed by free wine & local snacks & pastries. In the afternoon, there was an exciting trotting horse race meeting, which drew a huge crowd to cheer the jockeys on. In the evening there was music & dancing in the village square provided by the fabulous groups Sambacaray & Philadelphia, which everyone enjoyed. As always the fiestas ended with a huge firework display at midnight to send everyone happily on their way home.
The fiesta activities carry on all this week & next weekend feature a motor cross & motor bike festival to be held all day next Saturday at the hippodrome in the village.
