For a start you can forget about Cafe Del Mar, Bora Bora etc as they are too far from San Joan. The place is jammed all day and parking is impossible with miles of cars parked along the road into San Joan.
Its a local Fiesta and nothing to do with the party clubs ...more to do with pagan rituals and culture. Lots of music Rock being the predominant and some DJ's
If not staying near San Joan I would advise you to get there early.
BBC are filming an interesting documentary there this year. Promises to be an alternative look at Ibiza and from my dealings with them so far...... a much improved view of Ibiza.
