San Jose/ES Cubells info?

Hi folks,

I'm gonna be staying at a villa in Es Cubells so was hoping some Ibiza gurus could give me some info on the place and surrounding area for restaurants, beaches, etc.

The idea is that for 1 or maybe 2 afternoons/evenings we can stay local and have a quiet one!! But whether that will actually happen remains to be seen ... 8O

I know San Jose is the nearest town, any good bars/restaurants? Have heard good things about El Destino I think its called? Anyone eaten at Es Boldado?

What about beaches? I've been to Cala D'Hort (stunning) and Cala Moli before, any other good ones nearby?

Any info whatsoever on any of this stuff mucho appreciated!! :)

I'm new here by the way, how y'all doing? 8)

yes, Il Destino is a must if you like tapas. Trattoria del sole (road to Ibiza) serves delicious Italian dishes, although the waiters are a bit weird (and the background music was horrible).

My favorite is KM5, on the road between San Jose and Ibiza (near the km5 marker coming from Ibiza).

The beaches near San José are all very nice: cala jondal, es torrent (very good fish restaurant, a little pricey maybe), etc... if you have a car just cruise & discover.

cheers,
pawa

Thanks for the info guys!! :)

Yup will defo be checking KM5, have heard very good things about that place ... 8)

Anyone got any more info on the area? Moderators/Ibiza residents? :?:

Yes, I have been there! Nice beach a little treacherous to get to be car, be carful as it is very steep and the road is SMALL.... But once you get there, extremly nice a little rocky and no chairs but if you don't care about that it's worth it. Also, last year a woman was doing massages for 40 euros, she did an amazing job. She had a little table set up under the trees and she would massage you to the sound of the ocean. Well worth it! :D

Fraid not mate!

Only beaches we made it to other than Bora Bora were Cala D'Hort, Benirras, and Salinas (just for a brief wander).

Made it as far as Es Cubells village, nice little place, the view from behind that little church down to the coastline and sea is amazing ... 8O 8) Took a couple pics of that view, will get em posted soon ...

the little town on the edge of paradise

just stayed the week in a paradise villa on the cliffs of es cubells.

what a breath taking view as the sea was our back yard, complete with an in-ground pool that opened to the view as well.

beaches were remote but tremendous - highly recommend cala d'hort and cala comte (sp?).

for some great eats, check out the restaurant on the left hand side as you wind your way back to es cubells.

also, i found the italian restaurant's food (as noted in an above post) to be quite nice. service was fine when we were there.
