Easy people,

Going to San Fransisco with work in January!

Will get there at 13:15 on the Saturday and the conference does not start untill Monday morning so how should I spend my day and half?

We're doing the Alcatraz excursion with work so that's covered!

Looking to see some sights and do some good shopping!

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks

shopping - haight, for clothes and music

pier 39 is very touristy but worth a look but you'll probably cover that on alcatraz day

clubs wise checkout what dirtybird are up to on justin martin and claude von stroke's myspaces, i believe all the cooler clubs are based south of market street

watch a pacific sunset

bar - go to the bubble bar (about 40 different champagnes) and on the saturday we went there they had a very cool dj playing who played eclectic through to tech and the place was buzzing.

shopping - as fatphil said but if you want the labels union square is the place.

sights - china town is an experience (a complete world apart from the rest of the city, unlike the one in London!) and cycle over the golden gate bridge to sausalito.

food - zuni cafe on the corner of market and gough street, top quality food a reasonable prices with great service!

If you find yourself near a freeway at any point in your trip, make sure you only stop for a In'N'Out burger, and order something from the "secret menu"

I recommend a 4x4 with onions and animal style fries ;)

I didnt go out once when i was over there as i was visiting my brother who lives near Stanford in Menlo Park. Spent quite a bit of time in the Urban Outfitters store which is just down from Union Square, although i wish id saved more money for my trip to Haight.

Going back in July though 8)

Thanks for the advice guys, really looking forward to it!

I've only got a day and a half to myself so will have to cram everything in!
