Hey!
Just booked for san antonio next year, having been to kos, malia and magaluf i was wondering how does Ibiza rank along side them? i know its got a great reputation of having many of the biggest club in the world! whats the average age? just turning 20, will i be one of the youngest?! and whats the prices like?

thanks

The age varies alot, Ibiza is known to of had 60 year old clubbers, which i promote! You wont look like one of the youngest, i went for the 1st time when i was just 17, we stood out like a sore thumb!

San Antonios west end, will probably be on par to the other destinations you mentioned, back 2 back bars and loose woman.

As for the other fantastic areas in Ibiza, be sure to venture out and see them,. if your staying in San Antonio..

San Antonio is a wonderful place if you venture out of the West End- you've got the sunset bars, cracking restaurants (Es Ventall, Rias Baixas, El Rincon de Pepe(ok that last one is IN the West End)), Scuba diving and other watersports, excellent beaches just a short boat trip away, Bar M, Orange Corner, Itaca....Need I go on?
However, in comparison, Magaluf is a bit of a toilet IMHO.

Thanks, so from that i gather there is two types of ibiza...One which has the rows of classy bars and resturants, were most of the chatting up the ladies is done, younger people, not that busy and more laid back..West-end! The other being full of hardcore ravers 25+, more clubs than bars, more hyper and overall one hell of a crazy time...

Uh, no. You've got that pretty wrong. There's several different sides to Ibiza. People commenting above focussed on San Antonio, because that's where you said you're staying.

In San An, the wildest, cheapest, craziest bars and nightclubs are in the West End. That's where you'll often find uber-drunk guys and girls whooping it up.

The nicer restaurants and bars are, for the most part, in other parts of San Antonio (sunset strip area, further north, back along the bay).

Two of the islands super-clubs are in San Antonio (Eden and Es Paradis). The other big clubs (Amnesia, Privelege, Pasha, El Divino, Space, Penelope) are elsewhere but you can get to them by public transport.

People in the big clubs range from 18 to 60, so I wouldn't say they're for any one age group. People usually go to the big clubs to dance all night and have a good time. I've never viewed them as much of a scene for "chatting up". Nor have I ever really considered them "hyper".

The other main resort areas of the island - Ibiza Town, Playa d'en Bossa, Santa Eularia, etc. - all have different vibes. Santa Eularia is relaxed and older, with some great restaurants and a nice boardwalk. Ibiza Town is more cosmopolitan with lots of great bars down in the harbor and restaurants in the Dalt Vila (old town section). Playa d'en Bossa, home of Space and Bora Bora, is relatively young and international.

These are, of course, sweeping generalizations but DO take the time to get around and see more of the island.

nice one everyone! not a single mention of chavs, muppets, etc etc etc.

i can't believe anyone of 60 would go to a club though!

(it goes without saying that ibiza's professional crackpots are not included in my above sweeping statement)

thanks alot, so great info!

i was hoping for a chav free holiday, but there everywhere these days and coming from wigan im used to pissed up chavs acting like tits!

Would you say west-end was a rough place....

Having been to malia last year, were i didnt see one fight or here about any trouble. im expected to see alot of fights, but i hope am wrong.

I've been to Ibiza for holiday 5 years in a row and can't recall ever seeing a fight.

Then again, I've never spent an evening out in the West End.

I think, in general, that's not the type of vibe you'll find in Ibiza. People are there to relax and have a good time.

If you dont go looking for it and dont get involved then you'll be reet, same everywhere really!

Am looking at taking around 1k, hoping that will be enough cz i think we will only take a couple of trip to the big clubs, ive heard its around 50 euro just to get in.

Staying in club paraiso, looks like a decent place. any info would be greatful :D

The closest to a fight I saw in Ibiza was in the dining room of my hotel in Playa D'en Bossa. One younger German guy got sassy with an older German guy, and then the older one stood up to call his bluff. No one even batted an eye - the food was too good!

Playa D'en Bossa is a great place to visit - very nice beach, inexpensive restaurants, and Bora Bora and Space! But definitely do not miss Ses Salinas and Sa Trinxa - at around 5PM the Pacha girls make their promo stop and it is oh so heavenly!

BEEN IBIZA THE LAST 3 YEARS AND GOIN AGEN NEXT YEAR.
STAYED IN PARAISO LAST YEAR AND ITS BY FAR THE BEST PLACE IVE STAYED IN IN IBIZA.
ALTHO THE POOLSIDE DJ BOOMING OUT TUNES WHEN YOU'VE JUST GOT BACK AT 3 IN THE AFTERNOON AND WANT TO SLEEP IS ANNOYING AT THE TIME, YOU MISS IT WHEN U GET BCK.
1K SHUD BE MORE THAN ENOUGH, ESPECIALLY IF YOUR NOT PLANNING ON HITTING THE BIG CLUBS MORE THAN A CPL OF TIMES.
THE WEST END WAS A LOT OF FUN LAST YEAR B4 THE CLUBS I MUST SAY, SUM EXELLENT BANTER.

If you want cheap drinks (that may give you the San An Sh1ts), evern cheaper girls and cheesey music, go down the West End. If you just want to get steaming drunk and muck about then that's all it's good for really.

If you venture a bit more out of San An, towards the Bay area, you've got some pretty cool bars (Bar M, Orange Corner etc) and some nice restaurants.

If you like curry, there's an AMAZING curry house in the middle of San An, called the Curry Club. If you ask anyone they'll point you in the right direction.

Try spending a few nights in Ibiza Town too, a cab shouldn't cost you too much, and it's a much more mature, diverse part of Ibiza. Loads of cool, funky bars, some great restaurants (definately come for a steak here one night) and a really colourful atmosphere.

Club wise, Eden and Es Paradis are in San An, walking distance of the main strip. They're pretty cheesey, some hardhouse nights etc. If you want a bit more of an older crowd try Space in Playa Den Bossa, Pacha in Ibiza Town, and Amnesia (on the road between San An and PDB).

:D
