Hi, this is going to be my first time in Ibiza and I was just wondering what price you should look to pay for those bangles that the Africans sell in San An. My friend brought one back last year and it cost him 14euros (pretty much all the money he had in his wallet) I think this is quite cheap and would be willing to pay more. Hopefully when I'm there I can find someone who is selling them. :spank:

if u must buy one dont give the cunts more than 5 euros....and if u r gonna get one have a 5 euro note only in your pocket...when they ask for whatever they ask for pull out the 5 and say thats all u got...if u get your wallet out youll get f***ed over like your mate did

exactly, why would you wanna pay more than 14 euros anyway.

well those chains are made from the finest gold so im sure someone with impeccable taste wouldnt mind paying a little more fro them

Just out of curiosity, who are y'all calling "looky looky"? From the statements, I can assess that it is being referred to the African people on the streets. Am I correct? Why the term "looky looky"? By the way, where are most of the African people from? Macky, Stephen, any input?

By the way, in the UK can't you buy bangles at some Indian/Pakistani store? I am assuming that it might be cheaper when you can comparison shop and bargain at your own pace.

Cheers,

Laguna,

They have got the name looky looky, cause thats how they grett you. i.e--'come here Del Boy, looky looky, I give you good price'

Ive also been referred to as "Rodney" by a looky-looky,I hope he wasnt implying I look like Del Boys brother, and "hey Rambo" which made me laugh that much I actually was gonna buy something. Anyone else been referred to as something funny ?

best way to treat look-looky men is like 18-30 reps, a stern "f*ck off Im not interested" with your best Robert De Niro scowl ! Seems to work

A mate bought a watch (cos he'd lost his own in Space and feels "naked" ) off a looky man , and it stopped as the bloke was about three paces away after making the sale!

Yeah, I've been called bad boy 8) . When I went in 2002 one of them seen me wearing a Liverpool top (tell by your username you won't like that ;) ) and we'd just bought Diouf...... cue shouts of Diouf and Liverpool each time I walked past.

I heard both of those actually!!!! I was there in 02 as well. There were loads of them in Senegal tops. :)

Just been speakign to a Red mate, and he remembers one of them seeing his LFC shorts and calling him "hey Michael Owen". :D

Its undeniable that the bangles, shades and nick nacks that the guys sell are absolutely top quality merchandise.

If I were you I would hold off shopping in reliable chain stores in the UK, make a list of all the gear you would have bought with guarantees and spend ALL your hard earned cash purchasing stuff from someone you will never see again who just lurches up to on a beach.

Certainly makes sense to me.

Mostly they are from Senegal. And mostly they are okay. Of course there is couple of bad boys among them but aren´t there always?

Usually they are nice to you if you are nice to them. (And now I am talking only about looky-looky MEN.) But if you treat them badly they can be MEAN :!: And if that happens you will find out that there is lots of looky-looky men in San An...
