Hi
i am heading back to IBZ this year (will be my 3rd time)
thinkin of stayin in the bay - can anyone tell me what it is like, i have always stayed in San An (right in the middle) what way do the water taxis work, how much is a taxi to the town etc....all info greatly received ;o)

Hello!

Ive stayed in the bay twice and its ok actually - havent really been round the bars much other than BN3 as the discobus stops there and they have some pre-parties on - we ended up seeing judge jules there for a bit before he went onto eden.

But its ok for getting to San An, Ibiza town etc - water taxi across the bay is 2.5 euros (ish), taxi about 7 or a half and hour walk? the water taxis depart every half hour i think and its nicer than getting a normal taxi to be honest!

I have stayed in the bay about 5 times. It's a half an hour walk which was no problem for us. We normally stopped in Bay Bar whilst walking into town which I recommend for some Mojitos.

so do you think that we are not missing out on anything by stayin in the bay? is there still a "buzz" during the day in the bay?

lots going on in the bay.of course mainly at night.lots of places to eat and drink.cannot belive you have not walked round there on your stays before.depends which hotels atps your staying in on how far its going to be to walk to west end.

always best to check up on prices and places and get back to this site for info.don;t go booking a hotel/atp and find out its not very good.

what hotel atps have you stayed in the past.

I stayed in he "Marian" apartments & "Marco Polo" Marco polo was a nightmare :-(
We r looking at the Marvell apartments in the bay ... I dunno if I was up at the bay ?? It's not the end up at cafe del mar it's the coastline opposite that is that right?

San Antonio bay

If you get onto the promenade just by orange corner, 100 yards past es paradis. and follow it round to the end 10 minute approx, that is where san antonio bay starts. it carries on for about 3 kilometres so it depends which apartment/hotel you are in.
The marvell is at the far end about 30 minute walk.If you need any help choosing somewhere closer, give me a shout I live and work in san antonio bay.

Cool... Any suggestion would b great thanks a million :)

myself and RaptorJones (look him up on here) enjoyed a walk up there in the early hours of monday morning, looking after two young English girls who were getting some grief on the disco bus, seemed quite nice and quiet at about 5am! :p

apartments

yes, I would say ibizamar is a good choice, only a couple minutes walk from the end of the promenade and very nice 1 bedroomed apartments. Rosamar is another good choice , but is about a further 15 minute walk along the bay. If you want to try all inclusive mar amantis and bergantin are good choices. A more upmarket self catering suggestion is the tbh bahia that is actually on the promenade. Thankyou Woodruffe, dont forget if you are staying in the bay pop in for a PINK PANTHER cocktail :p.

hi there im going to ibiza on thursday stay in figueretas.we planning on goin to san an on saturday for a look around.will there be much open around the bay?as we plan goin walkin out around the bay.

I stayed in the bay a few times. Its have its positive and negative points. There is a good selction of restaurants and small (IMO) selction of bars. Its more family orientated than the town. Places I have enjoyed are: Jackie Browns, DuNa's, BN3, Pink Panther (cocktails :p) Java, Pint Pot and Kumharas. Depending on where you stay walking to town can be a trek, one that I usually enjoy. I have stopped at the following apartments in the bay: Xaloc, Rosamar, Playa Bella and Marvel Complex (this year). Xaloc is the only one I would advise on avoiding!

I am afraid that there is not much open around the bay at the moment, the odd shop, local bar and a couple of restaurants, it is a nice afternoon walk if the sun is out.. if you mean nightime then there is more open in san antonio centre after 11pm on a saturday night. The season starts 1st april for me at the pink panther and :D you will find quite a few more places open then, but the majority open 1st may.

Might have been discussed elsewhere on here, but your bar got some decent airtime on the recent docu thingy about kids and their parents in Ibiza, sue :D:D
