Going to Ibiza for 2 weeks at the end of July with my BF, been looking at where the clubs are etc and decided that the San An area is best, Is San Antonio Bay right next to the town? Is it easy to get to the town or are we gonna have to pay for taxis whenever we wanna go out.
We're looking to have a mad clubbing holiday and meet loads of folk but don't want to be stuck with the lager louts

Other thing is if we booked to go club 18-30 are these gonna be "couple friendly" do we have to join in with all the activities?

depends what clubs you are looking to go to. we stayed in san an twice last summer and all the clubs we went to where a taxi ride away; space, amnesia, privelidge, pacha. the only 2 in san an arees paradis and eden and no nights there are really what i am into to.

the only attraction for me in san an is the sunset cafes and to get to these you will either need to get a taxi to san an or one of the little ferry boats across. there areobviously lots of english ppl in san an and loads of lager louts in the west end, but this can be avoided.

one of the times we (me + gf) went last year was with 18-30's, we went to the welcome meeting, where they said they need to validate your flight tickets - which is an absolute lie - they just take your flight tickets off you and keep hold of them while they try to sell you days out, we basically took the oppertunity to meet all the reps and tell them that we werent interested in any of the days/nights out. the majority of them were ok cept for one girl that got quite aggressive and told me i had shit musical taste and that the music i liked was dying out and that sundays at space where rubbish now and that we should go to helter skelter with 18-30's instead.

f***ing hell Alex mate. I wouldnt have stood for that shit!
I wish I see that girl giving someone hassle this year! Ill be giving her some back!

we went 18-30 last time we went (2001) we stayed in san antonio, basically after a few days the muppets get tired of trying to flog u the tickets for the days out, felt sorry for one of em who came to our room one morning to try & rope us into a boat trip, we had been up all night, and to say she got ruined was an understatement!!!

anyway, san-antonio is ok, a lot going on, if u wanna steer clear of lager louts then avoid the west end, but do visit the sunset bars, ie del mar, mambo, kanya & coastline which also have some great pre-club warm up gigs on!!! all free too!!

from the bay san an town is agood 30mins walk, but its a nice stroll along the beach!!

i'm staying in san an starting on saturday night. is it easy to get to the clubs not in san an, from san an. as i heard that eden an es paradis are a bit cheesy?

There is the infamous disco bus that goes from San An stops at Amnesia and Privilege and goes to Ibiza Town for Pacha and El Divino or it's easy to get a taxi from the rank in San An. If you want to go to Space or DC10 you can either get bus to Ibiza Town and then bus to PDB or get taxi.

Eden and Es Paradis attract a younger Brit crowd who want to listen to the latest summer 'anthems', depends what you're after but there's far better clubs to go to imo.

We've stayed in San An eveyr year for 3 years - but I don't think we would again. The first ear we stayed right in the heart of the west end, and it was HELL. Lager louts throwing up on our doorsteps, people pissing over the balconies, no air con etc etc. The second year we stayed in Cala Gracio which was about 20min walk from San An, which was a really nice area, close enough to the bars etc, but far away enough for a quietish holiday.
Last year we stayed in San An Bay, which was the best choice out of all of them IMO. The hotel was gorgeous, and you were only 15mins from the nightlife.
I'm staying in Playa Den Bossa this year and I think I will from now on, all the clubs/bars I want to go to are there - Space, Pacha etc etc. Plus it attracts a more mature crowd, definately no lagerlouts!!! :!:

A more mature crowd? The pretentious smell is wafting again! I am 32 and would never stay anywhere apart from San An. You have it all. The furthest away I would stay is Pikes, about a 20 minute walk.

thanks. i think i made a bit of a mistake staying in san an as i think the lager louts should die. oh well, i wont let it ruin my holiday and i am not staying in the centre.

It's well known that if you're a spotty 18 year old on your first holiday to Ibiza you stay in San An!
Parts of San An are lovely, yeah, but unfortunately most of it is ruined by the louts from the West End overflowing into the decent parts.

Is some peoples opinion...

See for yourself.

There are so many nice restaurants and bars in san an and the best sunset on the island with some fantastic sunset bars and cafes.

If this kind of negative information about stuff that is really quite limited to 2 streets stops people from seeing all the good stuff then that is not good.

Hotel Apolo Ibiza San An

Hello I am off to Ibiza in august for 2 weeks and was wondering if anybody has stayed in hotel apolo as that is where I am staying. PLease send me some info about it Thankyou

We stayed in the bay the first time we went to Ibiza and then i stayed there the year after. We walked around to san an town the first year and we had very swolen ankles by the end of the hoiday. The second year i got the boat across which was nice.

Past two years weve stayed in San An just by Kanya - i love it hear, not too rowdy and close enuf to everything.

I'm with Stuie. Sometimes they way people describe San An would put any Newbie off which is a shame as it has so much to offer. We could have opted for PDB this year but my missus was against it as she wanted to be near Sunset Strip etc.... At one point I even regretted that, but after working things out I'm glad we'll be in San An Bay.

I stayed in san an bay last year and it was just enough for thoses nights youve had enough sun/drink etc, its got a few bars itself but the walk along the front to Eden and Es Paradise is nice! takes 10-15mins.

Check out ITACA, ORANGE CORNER, AND BAY BAR CAFE just a few of mine and my fellas haunts!

If you ignore people in the westend its a cheap night out!
Busses run from the above places if you buy your tickets from them!!
