I keep reading all this reviews and stuff like that with ppl telling they were robbed.... thought Ibiza was a friendly place... Been there three times, and I was not worried at all..but now...hmm..

Ibiza is safe as any other touristic ressort, just be as carefull as you'll be at home and you'll be fine.

I think its more the case of people being robbed of things in their hotel room. I'd be careful with vaulables, ie. dont bring flashy toys unless you really need them. Don't leave anything of value lying around your room. When you first arrive have a wee look about your room to see if theres anywhere you can stash things, and get a safety deposit box if they are available.
I made the mistake of taking a good phone with me and ended up so pissed I dont know whether it was lost or bumped, but it certainly never turned up again.

No all joking aside, Phil has the right idea. By all means bring your camera, phone, diamond necklace etc just remember that if they get lost/stolen/damaged, it's not going to be as easy to replace over there.
Also, make sure you get adequate travel insurance that covers you for accidental loss - a certain friend of mine went swimming with his phone is his pocket this year; phones can't swim

i feel safer over there than i do in my home town!!!
i wouldnt think twice about walking about on my own over there, but here im lookin over my shoulder every noise i here!
just be awear of things around you and dont leave valuables on show. one thing i would say is when walking along the street have ur bag on the opposite side to the road, just stops any temptation with moped bag snatchers.

Ive heard its the maids you need to watch out for !! - i hear they are partial to jewellry sets and the like....
Ive just got myself a portable DVD player, for the trip ... to use to pass away the time in the airport and on the plane, ... and maybe just chilling in the room ... hopefully the safes are large enough to accomodate it !!

Police are urgently investigating a wave of robberies, which have taken place at apartments in the centre of the town.
These robberies have apparently occurred when the residents who occupy the flats have been present but haven’t noticed anything had happened until after the thieves had left.
At the same time it was reported that a Rumanian man & 2 women, possibly of Moroccan origins, were detained as suspects in a case of breaking & entering which occurred in Sant Rafael.
The Rumanian man apparently had been detained several days early in connection with robberies, which had taken place in shops on the Calle Madrid street in Sant Antoni.
The head of the Guardia Civil on the island reported to the small business associations on the island that the number of robberies had increased on the island in June when compared to the same month in 2005.
However, the spokesperson was also pleased to say that the number of detentions had also increased, especially in Sant Antoni where 76 persons had been detained connected with robberies.
