in a recent interview for ibiza-voice danny whittle said..........

“we will be moving on with the R&B and hip hop room, with Jade Jagger hosting every Friday night in there and she is talking to the likes of Wyclef and Eve”

“we will be continuing with this sound in the Global Room, Trevor will be returning on Tuesdays, Neneh Cherry will be dropping in a few Wednesdays, and we are doing a big hip hop competition on Saturday hosted by Spain’s own Mucho Muchacho. We did this night last year on Thursday, but got so many complaints from locals who work on Friday that they could not come, we promised to move it to Saturday this summer. Both R&B and hip hop have been around for years and I think it is perfect that this music is represented on Ibiza. It’s great that people like Jade have helped to represent the sound here on the island.”

I'm leaving the states to get away from the hip/hop and R&B...

I'll definitely not be in that room...

i think that there should be a law or somthing
to ban all non electronic music from ibiza
the presence of ill favored MC wanna bees such as p daddy last year
only caused damage to subliminal sessions and WLS
duering my visit to realease yourself i stumbled on the global room
cought about 30 seconds of some F*cker playing hip hop
and ran out of there as fast i could

conclusion
if you see a big black guy on the decks
and it aint carl cox, john ulysys, morillo, parks(p&w),lucian forte, felix the housecat

than you must clear the area within 30 seconds
before suffering from a perminant damage to youe delicate musical taste

what if its derrick may, derrick carter, gene farris, todd terry, marshal jefferson, frankie knuckles? (and i can go on all day and night...) ;)

Are you under the sorry, mistaken impression that most black DJs are hip-hop DJs, and that most hip-hop DJs are black? Careful... some might take offense at that comment.

I'm not a hip-hop fan either... so if I ever hop behind the decks you needn't run to avoid bruising your ears.

well i guess i should have added the word ect
to make my point more clear so you wouldnt be pety about it ah fusion?

as for morbyd true words indeed
worry not i make it a habbit not to be under sorry mistaken impressions so rest asure that many black dj's have my full respect and Appreciation
(just not the hip hop playing ones)

oh nooooo! not for me guys ...

   Totally agree - Hip Hop & R&B - predominantly attracts the wrong crowd.... Not saying there shouldn't be a place for it, just preferably not Ibiza....

there's room for all styles of party music in ibiza, the global room @ pacha is only the size of my garden, and thats small, it provides a nice alternative to hear something different whilst your out all night. I hate drum and bass, but when i go to fabric, london, its actually quite nice to hear some for about an hour and then get back to the music you love.

its a bit harsh saying you should ban hip hop from the island, surely there is a place for ne type of music?! Personally at pacha i think i might spend more time in the global room than the other rooms. Now ill sit back and w8 for the complaints :P

Music is a matter of taste :) … no matter what is it, as long ur getting ur grooooooooooooooove on and having a good time then who cares what u listen to...

well said, similarly if dancing to whatever is in the UK charts is your thing then thats fine... if you dont like it dont go, or stay out of the room!

its healthy to have alternative music types to listen to, its not the first time hiphops been on offer on the island. i like some hiphop if im at home or chilling out, but not in a club, unless im really drunk at fat sams on a sunday night watching the local skenks gyrating about slowly in their smaller than small outfits 8O

what i found bizarre is some ppl would come out to some forums and start talking $h!t about type of music ppl listen to (like hip/hop for example) or dis some DJ (Tiesto is the biggest example lol) and think that they r the BOMB I mean, I totally respect anyone’s opinion about any thing, BUT don’t come trying to FORCE ur opinion to be heard and observed!.. Leave that part to the listener ;)

anyways... hey Fatphib, c u @ Space Aug 13 ;) i think all Spotlighters should be there for Radio 1 10th Anniversary
