The world lost one of its best ever comedic television actors today.

I don't know if you Gen X-ers in the UK remember The Jeffersons as well as any yanks around here do, but it was without a doubt the most important television show in the late 70s and early 80s in bridging the divide between races and showing minorities as business owners and positive role models.

The UK only really had the likes of the Cosby's and different strokes from the US

Yes, the Jeffersons was a spin-off of All in the Family. He was on there for years before they created the new show.

I was never a big fan of All in the Family, although it was groundbreaking at the time.
