Where would you recommend them staying? My knowledge of anywhere other than PDB/SAN AN/IBIZA TOWN is somewhat limited. I know non of those would suit them, They want some where which isn't full of youths, but has a good variety of bars/shops etc. They liked alcudia in Majorca when they went a few years ago.
I cant see my mother liking places down by salinas, those prices will give her an heart attack.

Someone as told them Santa Eulalia would be ideal for them, is this true?

Come on share your knowledge :D

Thanks

I will second this. Santa Eulalia without a doubt. Its a great resort and I really like it. Stayed there a couple of times too. Its has a fantastic range of bars, restaraunts and shops and nightlife is fairly low key (ie no clubs). There are some great bars (liquido, Mirage, Guarana) and eateries in the marina. You will not find many clubbers or groups 'having it large' They also have a big Pacha shop in the centre of the resort just off the promenade

The resort has an air of sophistication compared to PDB or San An a lot of locals live in this area too I believe. There is also has great public transport links to other parts of the island. My folks go to Ibiza at least once every summer and always stay in Santa Eulalia. They have just turned 60 and certainly not old minded and they love it.

cala longa would be fine as well.easy to get to santa eulalia by bus 10 mins if that.at least the resort is not that busy.me i have put my parents right in at the deep end in oct.for pdb.they have never been before.but with me in tow they will be ok.my treat.seeing as i have been going since 83 thought it about time they saw what ibiza has to offer.(in the 70s as well).11 days for them.me i am going out a week early for 18 days.

i might just give them a day or night off.back to the good old days of craming it all in.at least i know they will be not ripped of on booking trips via rep.all booked d i y.and cheaper than tour opp.might even treat them to a limo from airport.travel in style.even if its only for 5 mins down the road to hotel.

mine you Ryanv you must take them to san an/pdb ect.just to show them.what time of year are they thinking of going out you do not say.

definitely agree with santa eulalia - thats not to say its an "oldies" town but it has bars, more restaurants than you can shake a stick at and its perfect for the restaurant mile: bambuddha, aura etc on the san juan road - san carlos is just up the road and its a perfect location to explore the north

i'm biased though - i live there ;)

Definately all the above, easy access to Ibiza Town if they want a bit of dalt villa culture - But dont forget about the North of the Island too - beautiful coves and beaches Portinax for instance .......

They are going the first week in September, however i wont be going with them i fly out on the 13th of sep, Its my job to look after the dogs while their away.

I think there going with Santa Eulalia, everyone they have spoke to as recommended it. Looking at pictures it does look really nice, think i mite go on a day trip to there my self.

Thanks for the advice guys & gals :):)

well at least your mum will feel at home.ie shopping.lots of nice cafes good little markets on.even some shows on when i have been there in the square.

Good post, Fraz. And you're absolutely right... Sta Eularia may well be perfect for Woodruffe's folks.

But sophistication...??? I've been living here for three years and sophisticated it ain't, I can tell you that.

Few places in Spain could be called sophisticated; at least not in the way that we would know it. But compared to San An and PDB, Santa Eulalia is Belgravia.
