Riga.. again

I'll be in Riga from Sun. - Wed.

Will there be anything going on, or is all clubbing done at the wknds over there?:idea:
 
I had a great night out on a Sunday in Riga (though granted, this was 5 years ago... need to visit again soon as I love that town!).

You won't find as many places open as Fri/Sat, but the few that are should have people. The club I went to that night (Roxy) was packed, if a little touristy.

I've been to Estonia, but Latvia seems to be a lot more 'lawless' in a sense.

I guess we'll check out the most common clubs like Roxy etc.



No tip on some underground minimal/techno stuff? :twisted:

No worries...

I hate minimal so so boring.... but im always prone to a bit of hard German and Belgium Techno :twisted::lol:

There was a great little underground club in the basement of an otherwise unremarkable looking bar on Valnu St (across from the Forums hotel) that was playing progressive house when I visited and could very easily have moved on to techno. I went on a Friday night, totally by accident as I was just looking for a bar to get the night started. I can't remember the name though :?

A quick Google search for Riga Club Valnu turned up a listing for Depo. This sounds familiar, and the Riga Travel Guide describes it as a "Very good underground club, with a mishmash of alternative tastes." That's got to be it.

What the hell did we do before the age of internet btw?

We probably all got ripped of at dodgy strip joints I guess :o:D
