Been listening to this for the last couple of days and thought I'd post a few initial thoughts :P

Firstly like to say that I absolutely loved last years CD and the the free DVD was a fantastic bonus (there isn't one this year :( although they might release another version with one at a later date i guess)

For me last year the CD was a great mix of tracks with a strong influence from the dirty, electonic sound a la NDSM.

I would say that the 2005 CD is "lighter" it has a lot more tracks with vocals which at times almost made me wonder if I had put a HedKandi CD in the tray (difficult though since I don't own any 8) ) That said though it has not moved away from the Dirty sound but there's just less of lot of it and it tends to be a little more "bleepy" almost acid house influenced than the more bassy electionic sound of last year.

It does have a lot more signature tracks that I instantly recognised which is good for that instant "catchiness" and I don't think many who buy it will not enjoy their first listen. This could be that I've been to Ibiza once this year and simply heard a lot of the tracks whereas last year I only went at the season and bought the CD a few weeks before going so a lot was still quite fresh and took time to grow on me :)

It's a little odd that "Deux - Sun Rising Up" is on both CD's as yes it's different mixes but it's almost like David Piccioni liked the track so much that he had to put it on both CD's
:?: Hearing "My washing machine" instantly returned me to the Red room in Space with Tim Sheriden playing ;)

Best track by a mile for me (at the moment at least) is - Axwell - Feel The Vibe ('Til The Morning Comes') (Seamus Haji Big Love Remix)

In Summary - Highly recommended but quite different from last year which is a good thing as it reflects how the sound has moved on in the last year, you can buy online from play for £10.99 which makes it pretty decent value too http://www.play.com/play247.asp?pa=...string=space+2005&page=search&Go.x=50&Go.y=13

:D :D :D

I think it's a bit of a shame that Space used to break some of the lesser known tracks on their CDs which would become anthems during the summer. They seem to be taking the more obvious route these days (and no doubt more lucrative).. Don't get me wrong, I'd enjoy listening to the tunes that remind me of my trip, but with a bunch of other labels doing the same thing I think we miss out a bit.. There's always the CircoLoco comps though ;)

Agree with you Mark, it's interesting to see that a lot of the tracks also appear on Subliminal sessions 9 and there are a few from the Miami 2005 CD. It is without doubt a more "commercial" offereing than ever before :? However very easy listening :D

It's interesting that there is a DVD again, they must be doing the same as last year in releasing 2 versions.
I only have the 2 CD's
