Im not even going to try and compete with Barbies review as it is pure entertainment but also because much of it is going to be the same, so will keep this as brief as possible.
First of all I think we found the best timed and value flights this year as it meant we were not getting up or waiting around at ridiculous time and you arrive and depart at the best possible times for villa/hotel. We flew with Britannia from Gatwick, out at 10am on the Saturday morning and coming back at 3pm on the following Saturday afternoon.
We had a villa for the week which was really nice and was perfectly located just 200 yards from KM5 restaurant. Taxis were relatively easy to get and to get back and cost no more than EUR 15 to Ibiza Town or PDB.
Saturday night we decided to take it easy and go for dinner in KM5 which was really nice. It was my first time there and they have a really cool bar, mostly outside and the restaurant was excellent with probably some of the best food I have had on the island. Have been to Bambuddha Grove several times and think KM5 is way ahead of it. After a few drinks, we all went to be around 4am in preparation for Space on Sunday.
Got up relatively late on Sunday and had a bit of lunch before heading down to Space around 3 or 4pm. Got inside and noticed it wasnt as full as previous years. Back room was shut until later and there was still plenty of room on the terrace. Its the best time to go to Space I think.
Eventually found Sarah, Tom, Jon, Becki, Jamie, Ru, Rachel and Alex on one of the podiums on the terrace around 6.30pm. Danced with them for a while and then went out to Bora Bora for a few hours.
Came back in around 10pm and this is where it began to go horribly wrong. Spent a couple of hours on the Terrace with all of the above gang for Steve Lawler. I remember having a chat with Jamie about Lamas and deciding that we were going to go and visit the Lama farm in Ibiza during our stay and if we couldnt get in we would just go to Peru.
Inside to the back room for Todd Terry which was very good and eventually stumbled out at 3.30am with one of my mates and went to meet Sarah and others for a drink in PDB. Got home around 5am.
This is the longest I have ever spent in Space and probably the most enjoyable time I have ever had at Space on a Sunday. I fully believe that the decision to leave and go to Bora Bora and also with it being less busy helped my enjoyment of the night.
Monday: got up around lunch time and spent the rest of the afternoon by the pool. Went to Bora Bora around 7pm for a few hours and then off to a bar to watch the football. Back to Bora Bora after the game and then went to Pacha for Roger Sanchez via Sarah and Tom's room at El Hotel.
All my gang wanted to go home at 4am so I stayed on with Sarah, Tom, Jon, Becki, Jamie, Ru, Alex and his gang and Rachel. Got involved in the Silly Dance on the Pacha dancefloor which was amusing but I was in a bit of a state by that stage. Eventually bailed out at 6.45am....I think.
Tuesday was a day of rest and was by the pool for the whole day. Went to Sa Capella for dinner in the evening which was really nice but we were an hour late for our booking as we had to stop the car three times for one of my mates to throw up.
Wednesday was another day by the pool and then we went to Cala D'Hort and Restaurant Es Boldado for sunset. Great views of Es Vedra and great seafood. Then we headed into Ibiza Town for drinks on Calle di Virgin and to try and pick up free passes to La Troya. Managed to pick up 5 free passes which was great. Tried to get 4 for the rest of us but they were having none of us but we were satisfied with what we got. Sarah was texting us at 1am asking us where we were but didnt leave Ibiza Town until 3am (which was a bit too late) and headed for Amnesia. We were all quite drunk by this stage. When we got there the queue was massive
Those with no passses didnt get in until 4am. Spoke to Jon briefly and then didnt see them again until Space.
La Troya was amazing. Spent most of the night on the Terrace. Great crowd, really friendly people and good music. Free wristbands to Space were given out around 6am so we all got one of those.
Headed down to PDB around 7am and had a few drinks. Was in a bit of a state at this stage. Headed over to Space around 8.30am and inside until the terrace opened at 10am. There was a great crowd on the terrace and ended up talking to loads of randoms about lots of random things. Sarah, Tom, Jon, Becki, Stephen and Clare all arrived and we all danced until around Midday when they left. Stayed on for another hour and then decided to leave but bumped into all of the above in passion for a smoothie. Proceeded to have a 'Black Forest' smoothie which was more like a cold soup and proved hard work but think it did me a lot of good!!
Jon was looking a bit worse for wear at this stage and was rambling on about loads of things but had us all laughing. He came out with one of my favourite quotes of the week when he said "Space is like West Ham.....you cant not like it!" I still do not know how Jon and Becki got on that flight later that night.
Went home to bed around 2pm for about 4 hours sleep. Got up at 7pm and went to watch the football. Only the Vodka Limons got me through that evening. Went to Bora Bora after the football and then for a few drinks in PDB afterwards. A few of my gang were going to Cream and Sarah and Tom joined us for drinks. Sarah was so keen to go to Cream and was trying to convince me to go. She had that minxy look in her eyes and I knew it was time to get to bed. Headed home and I believe Tom dragged Sarah home in a headlock sometime after I left.
Friday was by the pool again and then dinner in Ibiza Town. Found it hard to get into a decent restaurant as a cruise ship had arrived that afternoon.
Got the boat over to El Divino around 2.30am for Defected. Was absolutely shattered and only stayed 3am but the others stayed and didnt get home until 8am and said it was a really good night. I had never been to El Divino before. Its very small and I wasnt that impressed but the fact that I was really tired may have had something to do with it.
Saturday, we left our villa around 12pm and had lunch in Passion, which I was really impressed with. Flight home at 3pm which was on time thank god.
Had a really amazing week and it was so great to know so many different people out there. Enjoyed every night out and didnt have one bad moment. Met some really cool people,a lot of them from on here.
I had my doubts about going back out in September but Im convinced now and already assembling a crew to go back for another week.
