have enjoyed reading other peoples reviews.. so thought i would add one too :)

the best photos are here.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/spodhopper/sets/72157627619465285/

loads more on facebook but i dont think i can link to the set on there..

13th..

Up Mega Early for flights from Leeds at 830... flight over... pick up hire car.. drive to Ibiza Town.. check in to Hotel Cenit.. much nicer and quieter than the lux mar we stayed in last year! have an afternoon nap and then get dressed up in our hippy togs.. hit a couple of bars in the port area before dinner at the Pacha Restaurant..

Lovely Sushi and Gyoza to start.. Wine and cocktails free flowing..! the Fusion Mains where a bit of an Odd combo but pretty nice.. gorgeous desert too.. the orange sorbet on the side was AMAZING... wander through to the club to the flower power night at about 130ish i think and then danced the night away..!

14th..

Mega Hungover.. spent most of the day in bed recovering
Drove over to San An and eventually find Ibiza Rocks Hotel.. bought some drinks tokens on the way in... only to find we cant use them up on the balcony..! so we pop down to the pool area and have a couple of drinks down there with the tokens before the bands come on stage..

wandered back up onto the balcony to watch the bands..

The whip where pretty decent Indie popsters, though a keyboard player would have helped the lead singer.. he looked like he was spinning plates at times..!

Doorly... was rubbish.. no idea how to keep the crowd going..
he'd mix in a decent song.. the crowd would start to dance and then he'd ruin it by messing about with it on the decks with stupid effects, im a fan of Drum and Bass if its done well but this guy sent me to sleep.. chant of the day... doorly doorly made me feel poorly!

Then had to wait an age for Madness to come on stage...

But it was worth the wait for a brilliant, memorable performance from them.. the crowd went Mental dancing which was great to watch from the balcony! A nice long set that started and finished with some belting classics.. and a few new songs inbetween that i hadnt heard before.. and the cover of i chase the devil was great to hear too! :)

we had planned to go to The after party at Es Paradis but i still felt pretty rough so we just went back to the hotel via some decidedly average food in San An..

15th..

Checked out of Hotel Cenit and drove to Jesus for some delicous Pain Au chocolat at the croissant shop in Jesus... a stop off for a wander along the beach and paddle in the sea to waste some time in Santa Eularia before checking into the Grupotel Cala San vicente.. a lovely hotel in a quiet sheltered cove.. had a delicious dinner at a restaurant on the front in Cala San Vicente.. and spotted a guy at the table next to ours the spitting image of Moss from the IT Crowd..! :D

16th..

Mooched about the pool for most of the day and played with my underwater camera.. then headed over to San An to have a wander round the Pirate festival and watch the parades as well as having the bejeesus scared out of me by the cannon going off!
then onto the Cafe Del Mar for a delicous mojito (though not as nice as when we where there in april last year unfortunatley...) and watch the Sunset.. we had some more decidedly crap food in San An and decided not to eat in San An anymore!

17th..

Went to the Salines and ate at the ever delicious Jockey Club.. before lieing on the beach all afternoon with occasional dips in the sea to cool off.. headed over to PDB to see if we could get some wristbands for Space.. and within thirty seconds of parking the car and walking towards Bora Bora we had some! so headed back to the hotel to shower and change..

got to space far too early and sober due to having to drive.. ended up leaving at about 1:30 as we got a bit bored as the music wasnt really to our tastes.. next time we wont get there until 1:30!

18th

Drove over to Benirras to find Ibiza Yoga for a drop-in class we had booked, took ages and several phone calls to find where the class actually was...! arrived ten minutes late and got scowled at by the teacher... settled in and got on with the class..

have been doing yoga for about a year now and whilst doing it in the outdoors on the Deck was brilliant (if a little windy!) the three hour class was a bit too long really.. will have to find another shorter class somewhere next time :)

left the class after it finished pretty quickly as we where STARVING... drove back to the hotel and ate at the delicous buffet they had for the evening meal.. might book half board next time and eat at the hotel a few times as it was that good..!

to be continued in the next post so i dont lose it all again!

19th..

pretty packed day.. more pool mooching and underwater camera playing.. then drove down to Ibiza town for a a wander up to to the top of Dalt Villa.. amazing views around the (mostly sleepy and quiet at this time of day) beautiful old town.. some great little alleys and sidestreets to explore too.. also took a great pic of a dragonfly on its perch on the way back to the car!

then drove to Cala D'Hort for a quick wander along the beach which was pretty packed, so we didnt stay long before trying to find the road that led to Torres Des Savinar.. eventually found it and bumped and bounced along it to the end and walked up the steep path to the tower to snap some pics of the amazing views of Es Vedra and the coast.. wandered back down the steep path slowly and then watched the sunset over Es Vedra on the top of the cliffs with a load of other people..

then it was time to Eat! Es Boldonado was the target... had to drive for ages down a bumpy road that we thought would never end.. eventually go to the end and it looked decidedly unimpressive from the walk down.. but once inside it was lovely.. a great clifftop setting with some amazing views of Es Vedra.. and the food was pretty good too 8)

20th..

Yet more pool / beach mooching... (theres a theme here... can you tell? :p) with a nice Dinner at the beach themed bar/restaurant that i cant remember the name of at the end of the beach.. San An again for Cafe del Mar sunset and Mojito... as well as this time watching the Mambo Fireshow (which is worth a watch if you havent seen it before..)

then back over to Dalt Vila for a wander around by night... the place seems to change its charachter by night..

Its a wonderful place to people watch and wander around the shops.. we decided to eat and had an amazing dinner at Le Ventana... id highly recommend it there.. its a bit off the main area though.. turn back on yourself to the left as you come out of the main entrance, walk uphill slightly along the narrow slippy street and its on your right after about 5 minutes walk..

21st..

Had planned to go to Formentera.. but an extra long lie in meant that by the time we got to the port in Ibiza town the only boat we could get was at 3:30.. so we decided to give it a miss this time and go on our next visit.. (we said that the last time we came over too!)

Ended up at the Jockey club on the salines again for more amazing food and beach action..

then back to the hotel to shower and change before the highlight restaurant of the Trip..
La Paloma in San Lorenzo..

http://palomaibiza.com/

Amazing setting and food.. cant reccomend this place enough! a bit hard to find though as its at the end of a side street thats easily missed..!

22nd..

hometime :( the end of a nice relaxing chilled out holiday..

We will be back...! weve still got to visit Formentera and i really wanna go to either Tiesto or Van Buuren next time im there! 8)

Sounds like a great holiday actually. As a matter of interest which underwater camera do you have ? Mine's an Olympus Stylus Tough 8000 12MP job, which is great for underwater videos but pretty poor for regular land shots. Advantage is you can really knock it about and it doesn't bat a lens shutter, but the pictures you took are ace - far clearer that I've ever managed.

Did you waterski at sunset :) .. or was that just a random ?

its a Fuji XP10..

its an ok camera but the normal photos (not underwater) are usually a bit wishy washy and bland straight off the camera, if the light is not good action shots especially arent that great.. ( i bought it to take with me when im out on the mountain bike )

though with a bit of tweaking in photoshop they can usually be made to look ok..

It did leak a little bit and got water behind the screen when i dropped it (on purpose) whilst doing a video looking backup as it fell to the bottom of the deep end.. which was apparently 2.7m, (the cameras supposed to be ok to 3m..) it dried out ok though and didnt cause any other problems after that..

I think it helped the pool water was really clear and the light was good when i took the pics... also switching to the underwater setting made a positive difference to the pics and video underwater too

we meant to go snorkelling and try it out in the ocean where the water wouldnt have been as clear, but didnt get around to doing that... another thing on the list for next time!

Edit..

just re-read your post and the land shots in that set on flickr arent taken with the XP10.. theyre taken with my other camera... a Fuji F31, which is an amazing little cam.. though not waterproof!

and it wasnt me water ski-ing.. just a random that made a cool pic :D
