restaurants off the beaten track

been out and about a bit recently and have come across some little eateries which are probably not very well known.

feel free to add any more little gems or discoveries

Talamanca beach at the far left on the rocks (past Sa Punta).
a little shack which serves extremely fresh fish right on the rocks at the end of talamanca bay, past the hotel victoria and just beyond the pacha restaurant sa punta. stunning views of ibiza town and the bay of talamanca. i only discovered this yesterday! it is a really lovely spot.

L'Angolo Italian restaurant in figueretas.
little pavseide restaurant on the Calle Ramon Muntaner (the road going to the hotel los molinos - parallel to the figueretas promenade). real genuine italian home cooking. really, really tasty. got some delicious fresh fruit chupitos as well. (no pizzas!)

Xicu tapas restaurant near the port of ibiza.
this is on the main road leading to the port (bartolome rosello) just down from the deutsche bank on the same side. really great value tapas, and i love the spanish atmosphere there - sit on the pavement and very informal service - a good cheap alternative.

ok here's my 2 cents worth

s'antiga llesca ( i think it means the old coal fire )

calle es calo, cala de bou. it's opposite rumi's gym/ rosamar apts on the strip which runs down to kumharas.

superb no frills diner with brilliant views of the main road and the building site next door.....

however, popular because of the superb food, tapas are the speciality, and good wine at ridiculously cheap prices.
i love the grilled prawns (prams on the menu), octopus fry up, pan con tomate, kebabs, and cod.
a bottle of rosado will set you back €5 and a robust ribero del duero red, ideal for cold august nights, €7.50!

they even open at 7.30 am for breakfasts!

thank you stephen :-)

just remembed another of my faves (especially with our new office location)

Restaurante Zafiro on the cala de bou road (the upper one running parallel to the bay of san antonio
do the best menu del días (3 courses and wine) on the island - you can choose between cheap 7 eur, middle 9 eur or expensive 14 eur.
always packed to the brim with spanish workers - well worth a visit for some great value and very tasty food. the paella and fideua are superb as well.

the zafiro gives you the option to choose from the 3 course menu
starter and sweet
main and sweet
starter and main
for a reduced price if you're not up to the full monty!
in addition there is a bottle of wine included in the price which you can upgrade to a good quality one for 3 or 4 euros more.

good nights to go are when there's football on the telly plus sunday breakfast time it's packed!

ps in winter they have rabbit, hare, pheasant and partridge on the main menu!

it's on the avenida san agustin btw

Atzaro

Rural Hotel & Spa (soon)

It has a fantastic quiet restaurant, a place one would prefer going to if you´re fed up with listening to the same 3 classic Chill out CD´s on the loudspeakers, whilst dining......

The cava as well as the starters and main meals are all delisciously prepared and the place is just perfect for quiet, maybe romantic nights of unwinding and relaxing!

hmmmm. Atzaro a secret?

so much for ibiza-spotlight.com where the atzaro webpage has been hidden away for x number of months!

I'm confused!! Atzaro sounds fantastic, is it worth a visit for a drink/meal or not? :?:

these restaurants don't have to be secret - just ones which people may not have heard of.

great tip ibiza-girlie - atzaro is fenomenal!!

why, thank you! yeah it IS fantastic, so beautiful without being to over-done and tacky. makes bambuddha look like a circus tent really, altho my heart is still beating for that place too!

Can Talayis is my favourite! Is down a little track next to the boat yard as you drive past the San Antonio indoor swimming pool. The food is fantastic here!

    And now I´ve just reminded myself that I´m not in Ibiza this year to go there.....
