Restaurant reviews

Another one bites the dust… the super cheap but always excellent Chinese in Figueretas promenade (which we’ve been going to for over 15 years) is now a Barbie pink brunch place called Cremat Beach.
Was it called Taiwan or something like that..

here's another recommendation for foodies. in fact, if you like gastronomic experiences and don't mind the spend, this one should absolutely get on your ibiza restaurants bucketlist.

yesterday night, we had dinner at etxeko ibiza, martin berasategui's michelin-starred restaurant in bless hotel above cala nova. we had the 'el viaje de martin' tasting menu which is a multi course tasting menu (I think in total it were 18 plates/creations we got). what should I say? it's 100% amongst the best dinner experiences I've had in my entire life. prepare for a long evening of eating things you've never had before (the way they do it) and drinking fantastic wine (or beer, whatever floats your boat really) in a lovely setting with an absolutely impeccable service (and this is what often fails here on the island let's be honest).

etxeko is definitely in the es tragón / gaia ibiza category. for us it was actually the first such expensive meal ever since the pandemic, but since a friend of us who's just on the island knows the head chef personally and my wife's and mine 10 year anniversary is coming up, we thought let's get a nice group together and so we went.

fantastic from a to z, period.

needless to say you need to book well in advance. not sure how much they cater for vegans and/or vegetarians within that menu, but we had one celiac at the table and another person who's allergic to various things and they effortlessly managed to cater for them.

We ate at Yenuina Laboratorio de Pasta in San Antonio last night. Heard some really great things.
All the food was well above average quality, but have to say we walked away a little underwhelmed. I opted for one of the specials, which was linguine with scallops, garlic and chilli as did another colleague. Others went for the spaghetti carbonara, spag bol and a pesto pasta.
Probably the most I've ever spent on a pasta dish, so I was really hoping to be blown away. Sadly that didn't happen
Also tried the carbonara which was a little overpowering and heavy
Food aside, the service was really great though and by the time we left, the restaurant was close to full

Thanks for this Stivi.

This is something Tamsyn and I were considering for our September trip (10 year anniversary too haha). We will be staying near there at the time as well.

Only reason we are debating is it would be towards the end of our holiday and I know our taste buds and appetite is never it's peak at this period of our trips 😣 so the great food (and expense) might be wasted on us.
One to consider though 🙂

Oh no, it was superb and a lovely family ran it too

make an effort and do it at the start of your hols when you taste buds are still fully working!!!

We had the worst meal in that place that used to be coastline cafe the other week, mrs and kids got talked in by the guy outside. The artificial grass on the floor and filthy pools give it away. Good views but poor food.

Best meal of the week was the place on the beach at Port De Torrent

Ate at Mikasa in Talamanca last night. Whilst I'm open to moving more of my diet towards vegetarian and vegan food, the idea of going to an exclusively vegan restaurant is not something that appeals to me. I like to have the option. So I wasn't especially looking forward to

Edamame beans as appetisers, which came with a ginger rub - probably the best edamames I've ever had to be honest. I'm not really a fan of orzo, however the pea "meatballs" and the red pepper and tomato sauce that came with it were really tasty. Clear winning dish was the falafel hamburger served in a black charcoal bun with salsa. As succulent as any chicken burger I've ever tried.

The brownie was also delicious and you couldn't tell that is wasn't made with real chocolate. I'd happily go back

Let's also say that the views from the rooftop across the port to Dalt Vila are also spectacular

Can anyone recommend somewhere nice in Ibiza Town for dinner? Not looking for anywhere fancy or pretentious, just somewhere we can have nice food and drinks (a nice view and good atmosphere woud be a bonus) currently we are looking at Kaixo.

Mariner, La Cava, La Tana

Anyone been to Ses Boques recently? Not been before but always really fancied it. Is it easy enough to get a cab out of? Assume you have to walk back to Es Cubels? How steep is it getting back up?
Guys just on Ses Boques…have it booked this Thursday just wondering what best strategy is…booked 3pm so maybe have a mosey around es cubles and then walk down? Also is there a beach/swimming there? We’ll be in taxis so just wondering best place to head after. Looks like there are a few sunbeds etc there but not a proper beach?

it's small pebbles. if the sea is calm it's very nice to swim though. also, if you are in front of ses boques and looking out to the sea you follow the coast to the right for about 10 mins you get to es niu de s'aguila which is a beautiful spot for swimming if the sea is calm.

and yeah you can definitely walk down from es cubells if you want to.

Has anyone eaten at the Eden restaurant at Hacienda Na Xamena? Any reviews/comments please?

I have, but years ago, so my review won't be worth much. but back then it was good and obviously the spot as such is absolutely gorgeous (and that hasn't changed)
