Restaurant in Ibiza

Hey all,

Looking for some reccommendations please? I'm looking to take my girlfriend out for a meal for her birthday on 22/09 whilst we're in Ibiza. We've been to the likes of the Sunset Strip, KM5, Bambuddha Grove and really like the feel you get when in those kinds of places - Al fresco as it's called.

I'm really wanting to make this a special night, so does anyone have any suggestions at to where to take her?!

Was thinking about going over to Formentera, but the ferrys come back a like 8pm, which is too early.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Sa Punta - you can dine alfresco next to the sea overlooking onto Ibiza Old Town - it's very romantic at night :D

Sa Capella is also very nice, as is L'Elephant esp if you try and get terrace seating.

La Olivia in D'alt Villa is lovely. Very old style traditional Spanish feel to it, and the food is lovely and reasonably priced.

Can't find Sa Punta on the web anywhere!

The terrance seating at the L'Elephant looks amazing. Have you been yourself? Whats the prices like, just so i'm prepared!!

Sa Punta is owned by Pacha (I actually think it's much better than the Pacha restaurant tho) - it's right round the bay in Talamanca so you get gorgeous views of the Old Town by night - 0034 971193424. The food is excellent and there's a really nice wine list and they do really nice cocktails too. 100 euros would do you a completely slap up meal for 2 with loads of drinks etc.

I've only had drinks at L'Elephant, had a table booked loads of times but then realised food would be wasted on me so cancelled  One thing I would say about L'Elephant is that I had some friends who went for a really nice meal there and they said there was a lot of coked up tw@ts around which spoilt the atmosphere for them a bit and might not be what you want on a romantic birthday meal

Ok thanks, i'll have a look on the Pacha website and see if there are any links. Failing that i'll just call on the number and try out my rusty spanish. I forgot about the Pacha restaurant...but if the Sa Punta is better, then I'll try there. €100 isn't bad at all considering the location/owners etc.

Thanks for your help!

If you click on restaurants section http://www.pacha.com/summersite.html there is a bit of info on Sa Punta, the piccies they show are quite small tho. I really recommend it tho as it's very peaceful and romantic and the food and service is excellent. Ask for a table by the sea as well ;)

Hope you have a nice birthday meal, it is my b/friends birthday the day after so I've been making similar plans for him

Yeah, i've just found it. The pics are on the small side, but it does look the part. I'm in the UK at the moment, but would you reccommend making a reservation and asking for a table by the sea? Just to make sure we get one!?

Mind you, my gf says the sea air makes her hair "fly away"! Nothing like spoiling the moment huh!!

there is an amazing steak house in Ibiza town, probably in the top 3 meat meals i've ever eaten. wil try to remember the name

I agree with Barbie's suggestions especialy Sa Capella. Set in an old monastery and very nice food. Other suggestions would be:
El Ayoun: Moroccan restuarant in San Rafel. They have a nice candle lit garden and food is fantastic.
Es Boldado: seafood/fish restuarant at Cala d'Hort looking over Es Vedra. The restuarant itself isnt as cool or as funky as all the others mentioned but the views are amazing at sunset (especially in Sept) and the seafood is great if you like seafood.
Es Caliu: purely meat/steak restuarant a bit out of the way on the road to Potinatx. Really quiet local restaurant, very friendly and again set in garden. You will have to love meat though.

Is Sa Capella at the other end of San An Bay, near the old Windmill :?:

What kind of price range would you be looking at for these three Stephen?
