Hi,

Off to for a long weekend on Oct 8th and was wondering if the restaurant at cap de falco will be open, and if it Is still agood place to catch the sunset at this time of year. Thinking about poping the question there!! Will also need some directions of how to get there too! Any reviews or other opinion on this place would be handy too!

Many thanks !

I was there about this time last year and had a perfect sunset. You'd have to check the web to find out sunset time as it's obviously earlier this time of year. Not sure about directions - I just know the way in my head, but you go across the salt flats at Salinas and then up a dirt track. It's well signposted from the main road though. I fly out on Saturday so hopefully it'll still be open.

Good luck!

Directions, head to Salinas and before you turn the bend there is a small turn off in the road and you drive across s small road right across the salt flats and down a bumpy track. You will think that you are going the wrong way, but keep on driving right to the end and it takes you straight to the car park. Enjoy.

Cool, thanks some great info!

I'M open to any other restaurant suggestions too. Heard es boldado at cala d,hort is a great setting and great food too?

The setting is fantastic, incredible in fact (but that is true of most of the island), we meant to visit on our last trip and by mistake dined at the wrong one, don't make that mistake if you are doing the deed!

KM5 is not everyones cup of tea but the ambience and setting are remarkable if you have never been, a tad pricey mind, and more commercialised than the two you mention.

Good luck, you are at least putting some thought into the biggest Q you are ever likely to ask a girl:lol::lol:

PFFFFTT! I asked my hubby in our local curry house. Ibiza Schmiza fancy pants restaurant proposal fffnaarrr :p

Yes I am jealous and would have much preferred to do it somewhere in Ibiza

There is nothing wrong with the local curry house! Just wherever feels right. I'm just tryin my best to make sure she don't say no! LOL!!

Thank you for the suggestions! Any more, keep em comin!

WHat about el ayoun??

Es Boldaldo gets my vote

or how about go to the cliffs right opposite Vedra to the left of Cala DHort and take a bottle of Champagne
its really breathtaking at sunset and more romantic than a restaurant imo

There are many threads on here as to how to get there but PM me if you want directions....

Hello

We got married there, absolutely beautiful setting, service and food - highly recommended.

My reviews from my past 3 trips to Cap des Falco:

Cap des Falco
Vika and Momo came up with the idea of heading over Cap des Falco for the sunset. By comparison with Usuaia, their 1.5 liter pitcher of white wine sangria cost 24 euros!! It was better sangria, though. Vika had the sushi platter which was pretty good, while Irina had a nice seviche (more like a seviche-styled fish carpaccio) . I thought my meal was the best: linguini in a creamy brandy sauce with prawns. Flavorful. For 4 of us, we left 130 euros. But the best part about the place is the sunset. At that point, it was still behind the hills (actually, the top of Es Vedra, visible in the distance). Later in the season, you can see it out over the water. Recommended, if you're eating at sunset.

As dinner time rolled around, we drove to the restaurant Cap des Falco for dinner. We've eaten there before and their food isn't the most consistent but the location and views can't be faulted. I had a lovely tagliatelle in Roquefort sauce to start while Irina had a pineapple carpaccio with tuna tartare. All very good. My tuna steak was a little more cooked than I wanted but came with a nice side of grilled vegetables. Irina's baked fish wrapped in foil was delicious (but no side dish). With only a couple of drinks, somewhat pricey at 130 euros. We were pleased with our meals nonetheless.

We had decided on an easy night so we went to Cap des Falco for dinner and my god what a gorgeous view from that place :D Really chilled spot for a drink or meal with a beautiful sunset over Es Codolar. Food was just OK but the ambience made up for it.

Sunset in late September

Enjoy!

PS. Official sunset when I checked on Monday was at about 7:45 so I'd get there around 7 at the latest to grab a seat and enjoy
