Restaurant advice please

We are going on a self catering weekend in September. It'll be the first time in many years as we usually go all inclusive because of the length of time we spend it wouldn't be cost effective alcohol wise :)
So in all these years we have eaten at very few restaurants or cafes.

The ones I want to try out are Nassau and Crystal in playa den bossa, Sunset Ashram and KM5. The sunset ashram one is weird because the name came to me in a dream so I searched it on the Internet and found that it was a beach bar in Ibiza, although we did get lost and ended up in the car park of cala conte so maybe there is a signpost which has the name of the bar and I subconsciously registered it? But I like the dream story better :). Also we went to kumharas this year and the food smelled rather yummy but we just had cocktails.

So I would like advice on prices, quality of food for the 5 restaurants mentioned and also any others that are cheap and decent around playa den bossa if possible please :)

I take advantage of you post to mention a few places (the cheap one coz won't go to pricey one, "you pay for the place & not quality of food" even i can afford it, (it's my state of mind not to spread money  & go to restaurants where locals go & not "tourist" traps8)..) written in a french guide to ibiza( i bought a few weeks ago )in case anyone know this place & confirm they are cheap price & good..(kind a snack bar/cantine..for locals you go there for the food & not for mood (there is no seaside view from your table ))

ibz harbor

  • pasteleria vadell c annibal 13
  • Carniceria makoka avda sanjordi 19:meat..

in the guide they class NASSAU as a beach bar (middle east food, if keen on japanese food they advice tappanyaki-sushui lounge)

for Crystal i plan to there only for a drink (space preparty ...), same for kumharas..

always like to have lunch at plaza del sol, simple food and a good stopping point after a yomp around the old town

I always go to " sissi's asador" opposite the migjorn apartments a visit when i'm in town, they have nice selection of bbq grills and salads, and suprisingly good sushi too and not too dear either.

Nassau is quite a nice place with good music but the food is garbage. It's not that it was cooked badly. It was just poor quality meat etc. Oh and the waitress was a miserable bitch.

KM5. Good food, good music and nice staff.

if you want to have a nice lunch/dinner on the beach in playa d'en bossa, then try out either sirocco, coco beach or crystal.

... Nassau ...
ate there a few times and food was ok, but quite pricey.
the backdoor to the kitchen is mostly open - always nice smell coming out there.
but for my taste this place has not much to do with a beachbar.

sirocco next door way more relaxed
most parties in nassau i went (even the closingparty) were quite boring,
not much dancing etc. ... more like standing around with a cocktail in the hand
and talking bullshi.. ehm ... making smalltalk

ps:
does anybody know why the "original" nassau in mallorca was sold to this austrian bloke ?

it IS @ this car park - but food-wise NO dream story

go there for a longdrink or something like that, but not for food.
what they sell is more "snack"-style in average quality than anything else.
for "real" food better go to the beachfront-restaurant you can see from sunset ashram
(only few 100metres away)

wrong..... at night they have a different menu and the food is nice!!

I'm spoilt for choice now thanks! I spent all of last night googling and print screening the restaraunts I hadn't heard of so I can make my final decision and I'm definitely crossing Nassau of the list then which is a shame because it looks beautiful in the night!

maybe ... i go there may/june and sept/oct -
and then there is/was no "night"-menue (anymore ?)

that place has become terrible popular within the last years
that i would never go there in ****ing july or even ****ing august.
imagine some weeks ago cc even was the location for some whitetrailerparktrash-tv-production
for germany/austria/swiss like this x-factor-garbage :o 8O :spank: :spank:

you dont have to cross nassau of your list.
you can check three restaurants located in a row.
follow signs to nassau-parking. then take a look there, if you don´t like you can go
within 10 seconds to sirocco and from sirocco in something like another 120 seconds to
coco beach ...
