requesting # of beds in hotels

I've booked hotels through spotlight before. Now I'm booking for 3 people, and some of the hotels say that the apartments for 3 people either have a double or two single beds (plus a sofa bed) in one of the apartments. I want to get the apartment with 2 single beds, so I wrote a note requesting that when I booked.

However, I have heard from many who have stayed there (Bon Sol) that you will just end up getting what is left.. you might get your request ... you may not.

I had some friends stay there last year, and they say they specifically asked for 2 single beds and the sofa bed.. they called and emailed to make sure they were getting that, and it was confirmed that they would get the two singles, but when they arrived, they found otherwise.

Should I call? Is there anyway to find out for sure before I go... Otherwise i will cancell and book somewhere else.

without doubt, bed arrangements on holidays are up there in the pain in the a** stakes. To solve my issue, this year I've just booked my mate and I two single rooms to avoid all the hassle.

In answer to your problem, I suppose you won't know until you get there and from your friends story anything seems to go, especially around high-season. Sounds a bit of a gamble. Last year I booked a single at the Gran Sol and on check-in found they'd given me a double, so who knows?

Ahh.. thats no good.. I wonder if briniging a copy of my hotel confirmation with my request in it will help? because i really really do not want the double bed :?

If it turns out that what you receive isn't exactly what you've booked, I suppose there's nothing else to do other than raise a little bit of hell and hope the staff speak English.
