just got home from a week in egypt. me and my mate decided to catch some sun just before the winter really starts here in switzerland (natascha couldn't get any vacation this time...). we expected to have a quiet week in a really touristic place - sharm el sheikh (i've been there once before, about 5 years ago). well, we had generally had a quiet week with much sunbathing and swimming etc...but what we didn't know is, that there's a pacha. i've heard it opened about 2 years ago.
the cool thing is, 3 days after we arrived, their "ramadan" (feast month) ended and they had some special parties there! on sunday night, smokin'jo was announced to play...but was no-show. as replacement, john kelly played. well...i must say, i never have heard anything bout him, but as i heard then, he deejayed for many many years now. veteran dj? allright, his set was ok (played nice upfront house tracks and at the end he changed to trance). on monday night then it was pete tong who was announced - and luckily he wasn't no-show. i loved his set! again nice house music, but more clubby than JK, more progressive and less upfront.
btw: pacha sharm is really nice! well-decorated, fire-eaters and other show-stuff. of course, it's more made for tourists than real clubbers, but for me it was really a nice surprise to find a pacha there...and we had two blinding nights out there! (on other nights we hung out drinking tea and smoking sisha... )
now i'm back in switzerland and yesterday i've already been skiing. what a shock! last wednesday we had about 35°c in sharm and yesterday we had -15°c in the mountains but anyway - bring on the snow now!!!
