Renting Bicycles in Formentera

Has anyone hired a bicycle in Formentera as a means of getting around the island? What did you think? Was it necessary? Did you enjoy it? Is it necessary to lock up the bike when going to the beach or to a restaurant? Thanks!!!

the roads are good to cycle on and the island is VERY flat. there are loads of hire shops right in front of where the ferry docks.

i think you will get a lock when you hire the bike so its prob best to use it.

its really the only way to travel

Say what? True, the western side is mostly flat but I distinctly remember some small hills around San Fran and then a big ass mountain on the eastern side which my little scooter had to be politely coaxed into climbing
