Renting a safe or security box.

I was just wondering if it is possible to rent a security box in a bank for a week or more. I don't feel like leaving a couple of grand and a Rolex in some cheezy hotel safe that can be carried away (like in Es Vive).

Keeping valuables and passport in a safe deposit box is much preferable. Anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Most of the hotels have one( all the ones I've stayed in) Sometimes you have to pay a little extra for them.
Thats what hes saying he doesnt trust the hotel ones and to be fair i dont blame him i wouldnt!

Last year some mates of ours had there saftey boxes opened by hotel staff and all there money stolen!

well don;t take the watch out with you then.plus get a nationwide flex card.with a couple of grand on it, and draw out what you need for the day say...

but i am sure for a charge the bank would provide you one..but they will not be open at the times you wish to go out say....

i don;t even take my chains out with me or a nice watch ( i wear a cheap one),,so long as i know the time who cares what i am wearing...they will never know how much i have anyway.in money terms

I never take expensive jewellry with me.. my ipod stays at home.. most of my cash goes out with me, as well as my bank card and my visa card.

Did your friends report this to the hotel staff?

then why not leave this crap at home :? :spank: :?:

NOBODY needs a rolex at ibiza - maybe except a russian mafia guy who still
thinks wearing an expensive watch is cool ...

... the times that playadenbossa was called rolexbeach are loooooooooooooooong gone ... these were the 80s

safe

I use the front desk safe. I have no problems with the front desk safe, the room safe are a bit suspect. I think anyone can open them even if you change the combo. Leave your bling bling at home or wear it.

Ya, so are Ferraris, coke-head models, luxury hotels and nice restaurants.

Poor people often say that these things are sooooo out of fashion. Now it's IN to take the bus, date some fat cow next door, sleap in a hostel and eat in a McDonalds.

Just because nice cars get stolen, doesn't mean you shouldn't get one, just be a bit carefull of how you use it.

P.S. I did not get anything stolen, just wanted to make myself clear, it is just what I am concerned about. The safe at EsVive is small and fairly light, not attached to anything, a strong man can just carry it away to open later.

Del Boyski?

Kinda reminded me of Del boy standing at the bar with his filofax held in the air.......

"Gawd, I'm cream-crackered.....dealing all day in the city!"

To be brutally frank, if you can afford to wear a Rolex to Ibiza then you can afford to lose it....And any decent 4*/5* hotel will have perfectly good safe facilities, that is unless you have spent all your money on the Rolex and can't afford a decent hotel.

With reference to your "Couple of Grand", anyone with half a brain would not be taking that much in cash anyway....Boasting about Rolexes and a couple of Grand is so 1980's yuppie.

I am simply specifying WHY i would like something a bit more secure then a room safe. Torre del Mar had a good safe, but Es Vive was a bit flimsy. Besides, I don't trust credit cards or other plastic, it's all about cold hard cash for me, baby!

why not just buy a knock off rolex?

first thing i do when i go into a room is look where to hide stuff, the safe generally isnt where i start

have a nice holiday with your couple of grand, your cold hard cash
and your rolex ...

why don´t you go to one of the real "luxury" hotels :? :?:
http://www.spotlight-forums.com/showthread.php?t=43990

they should find a safe place for your rolex so that you can
stop whining

ps:
in case you don´t know:
a rolex is waterproof - so you can wear it everywhere (beach, swimmingpool,...).
so why looking for a safe deposit box instead of wearing it all the time ?

Man, some people here need to relax their ass muscles. I don't care about anybody's opinion on different lifestyles. I would like to know if it is possible to rent a box or not.
