Really worried that Space will be crap?

Hi everyone

I am brand new on here in terms of posting, but I've been following your site closely for about 4 years, since the first time I visited Ibiza basically.

Firstly I'd like to say what an awsome site it is - so full of information & detail, and so helpful, friendly and positive - most forums that have anything to do with clubbing descend into bitching and arguing on a daily basis.

Anyhow I was wondering if I could have your opinions. We're off to Ibiza this Fri for a week so we'll catch the WLS session on Sun 30 July. The line up is really worrying me - Groove Armada who I've once seen in London and they were not to my taste. Nic Fanciulli whose CD I've heard and was terribly soft bland music, more "lift" (as in, elevator) than club. A whole lot of other names I don't know. The only person giving some hope is Tom Novy, "Pumping" is awsome, but then who knows how his style has developed since.

From those of you who have heard Groovers, Nic F & Co,. could you tell me what you think - will this be a musical fiasco?

Many thanks in advance guys

There are a lot of Nic F fans on here

I know sometimes you can't judge what a DJs set will be like by a promo CD, but it did really scare me - honestly, it was so light and flat you could barely class it as house music at all. I know Terrace is about happy vibe & all hands in the air, but not this...

If anyone has heard Nic play, I'd be grateful for some reviews

Many thanks guys xx

What is your taste?

Groove armada are pretty predictable but they will generate a good atmosphere

DJ hell is playing - he will rock it with some nice electro.

Abe duque - expect some good acid house

Paul Woolford - top dj, electro house.

Ya.... that night is not the best We Love line-up I've seen.

DJ Oliver can be pretty good. The afternoon residents on the terrace aren't bad....
(edit: I haven't heard DJ Hell so no idea what he's like)

(note: DJ Sneak is playing Milk n 2 Sugars at El Divino that night )

Send a PM to terraza lad, he know's a lot about the current state of affairs in Space Terrace....and music in general....

I like dirty baselines, bouncy beats, techie overtones, basically wide range but as long as it makes me wanna jump out of my skin if you know what I mean!!! - the bouncier the better I guess

The 3 DJs you mention actually all sound good, genre-wise - I'd not heard of them before but feeling much more optimistic now - thanks v much

Thanks for the replies guys!

is this a round about type of way of saying scouse house?

the new outside terrace will be pumping out good uplifting house all day nonetheless, the residants always provide the party atmosphere, so just stay there

Oh no!!! I can see how that, coupled with me calling myself Liverpool Chick, could give a wrong impression

Nop, scouse house is NOT on my list of (any) music (at all).

Also I've only lived up north for 4 months but Liverpool is my fav city in the UK so that's why I'm calling myself Liverpool Chick - I really am, in my heart!

Like Lynch says, the sunset terrace will definitely play good happy housey tracks till midnight, then its a bit random what you'll get to hear in the rest. Hopefully will be to your taste.

ok. where do you go out in town?

Pre-3am it's a bit random sometimes, music quality's not consistent but typically it'll be Garlands, Society, tried Jaxx a few times. Nothing amazing, just killing time & having a dance. Masque has some greatmusic but is too rammed & hot for me

At 3am (I'm talking Saturday night - don't really tend to go clubbing on Fri) I head straight for G Bar for Mr John Cotton's amazing 4-hour extravaganza

Are you from Liverpool too? Where do you go? I thought this was mainly a London/Ibiza board, nice one! 8)

Just wanna say thanks for all the replies, I know this board gets lots of nebulous questions from newbies and still everyone gets a helpful & quick answer - boss :)

circus and chibuku mainly for me, voodoo now and again.

Cool - I like it. Maybe I should put up with the heat & move away from the, frankly, mediocre offer at Society & Garlands....!

Nice to know there's another person from Liverpool on here.

I'm sure I'll be posting more soon (hopefully, something interesting  )

Cheers mate

you should, I've not stepped foot inside either establishment for about 5 years. Not my cup of tea, musically or in clientelle.
